martsmarts Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 didnt look at the player once and went for the ball
ASH17LCFC Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 What about the other 100 stupid tackles before that then ? I bet everyone watching the game could see he was gonna get sent off.
Tevez Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 He was pushing to get sent off all game, but i think that he lifted his foot too high to get himself sent off.
teblin Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 To be fair the bloke winds me up! He csn do no wrong. If other players did made decision and gave the ball away like he does they'd be booed of the pitch. Don't et me wrong the guy has ability, but he's not as good as he or other people think.
Simi Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 The referee didn't understand how Hume plays. Frustrating really, at that time we were looking to finally push on, but that pretty much made Megson shut it down a bit more.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 What was Hume's first booking for? I can remember him being given one but can't remember what for? It bugged me the amount of bookings he was picking up last season for disent and pointless things like that so if he's been sent off today for two yellow cards given for physicallity I'll be less disappointed than if he's been given one of them for attitude.
Geo V Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 He was pushing to get sent off all game, but i think that he lifted his foot too high to get himself sent off. I thought that too. I think he got all excited about the TV or maybe he had a bust-up with his missus before the game as he was running around like a maniac. He may not have deserved to get sent off for that tackle in particular but it was inevitable and he may have been sent off for multiple offences?
Steven Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 The ref targeted him. Its as simple as that. Hume targeted himself. I thought that too. I think he got all excited about the TV or maybe he had a bust-up with his missus before the game as he was running around like a maniac. He may not have deserved to get sent off for that tackle in particular but it was inevitable and he may have been sent off for multiple offences? If hume hadn't been sent off then he would have been sent off later. GM should have taken him off as he was ineffectual anyway.
Wils Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 He was getting involved alot. Shit decision though.
Staf Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 I would of took him of, you could see he was going to get sent off
Koke Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 You could see it coming really. Megson should've taken him off.
ithuriel Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 im surprised he lasted as long as he did , the scunny players were successfully winding him up and it was only a matter of time. personally i like hume but the guy isnt learning from his past mistakes and he isnt fulfilling his potential
Webbo Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 I thought that too. He may not have deserved to get sent off for that tackle in particular but it was inevitable and he may have been sent off for multiple offences? My thoughts exactly. You could see how wound up he was just looking at his face. Some of his tackles were reckless and stupid.Imo his sending off has thoroughly deserved.
Asha Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 My thoughts exactly. You could see how wound up he was just looking at his face. Some of his tackles were reckless and stupid.Imo his sending off has thoroughly deserved. Agreed. He wasn't sent off for that tackle alone, it was for the hundred others he commited throughout the hour he was on the pitch.
Thracian Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 My feeling was that Hume got fed up after being manhandled a coup,e of times, particularly when their left back got him in a stranglehold. Hume complained - understandably as it was clear the referee had selective vision - and I remember Hume giving him some verbal as things moved from simmering towards boiling. The referee let that go but was clearly after him from that moment on. Megson should have subbed him, no question, and while I totally agree Hume took things closer and closer to the line in the second half that is still no excuse for the referee to send him off unfairly.
Asha Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 If Hume were a S****horpe player we would have no complaints at all. I just think Hume deserved it overall, but should have been bought off all the same. How many games will he miss now?

I just think Hume deserved it overall, but should have been bought off all the same. How many games will he miss now? Just 1 I think. Personally I'm not bothered. I like both Hume and Fryatt (most of the time) but it's become clear now that neither of them are going to score the goals we need. Time to give someone else a chance.
Ashley Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 The sending off should'nt of been a sending off. S****horpe achived what they wanted to do and they did it by getting hume frustrated and finally getting him sent off.
Brainy Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 Thats not a problem though. It's Hume's fault for letting them do that.
Ashley Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 Thats not a problem though. It's Hume's fault for letting them do that. Yes I know it's Hume's fault but he's a proffessional and he should be setting a good example to our younger fans. Imo Megson should of brought him off before he got sent off, now we'll be without one of our best players for the next three games.
ASH17LCFC Posted 21 October 2007 Posted 21 October 2007 Was Megsons fault end off, anyone with half a brain watching yesterday could see he was gonna get sent off abit like rooney against Spain so what do you do ... You sub him and give him a ticking off ... Not Megson ... He just leaves him on and lets the mad man get himself sent off. Megson out !!!
