Group winners all qualify automatically and then the teams that finish second go into some playoffs to determine the other 4 European teams to reach the World Cup? Or something similar, anyway..

The Germans will win it, I reckon, unless we've someone other than Toshack in charge to put together an 03/04 style bit of sensational awesomeness. But I fancy we could show up Russia and Finland fairly well.

I was just reading Ekstra Bladet and this was their headline "Gensyn med Sverige i VM-kvalen" I hate Sweden but unfortunately I can't see Denmark getting out of that group. Unless of course something change over the year.

If the Russians keep Hiddink, they're going to be favourites for second. And Finland proved they are no mugs by any means during this qualifying campaign.

Unless of course something change over the year. Denmark are in a bit of a predicament with a lack of real quality players, so you might be right. But I'm glad we got drawn against Sweden who I always see as equals. Portugal wasn't a bad draw either. They looked very vulnerably during this qualifying campaign, and if Finland can be so close to knocking them out, then I certainly don't fear them. The 'weaker' teams in the groups are tricky, but we'll see...
