MC Prussian Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 ... I can feel you all share this sentiment.
StroudFox Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 What can you say?! We have high expectations with Holloway but it is going to take time. He still has the same squad that have played rubbish all season.
stez Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 to be fair to holloway, he's still only got other managers' dross to work with. lets wait until jan and see who he gets.
Smiffy Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 The phrase "you can lead a horse to water..." comes to mind.
Anish Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 We were due another one of these rubbish displays...
stez Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 The phrase "you can lead a horse to water..." comes to mind. the phrase "you can't polish a turd" comes to mind
Smiffy Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 the phrase "you can't polish a turd" comes to mind That was my second thought!
Scaramanga! Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 the phrase "you can't polish a turd" comes to mind But you can spray paint it blue.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Feel better as have just listened to 4 fantastic songs... Put on 'Jackie Wilson Said' Dexys Midnight Runners 'Dog Train' by Levellers 'Diggin Your Scene' by Blow Monkeys 'Rise' by Doves (MY GOING OUT SONG) Now I feel
Rincewind Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 One good thing, if you want a more cheerful view, the three bottom teams are drifting away from the rest. We are five points above third from bottom with a couple of teams between. It would however, help eliminate that little pesimism flying around if the ruddy team played like a team that was better than the bottom three.
maddog Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Another awful performance at home, all the players were very poor even Fulop was at fault for their first goal. The worst was Clemence who had yet another shocker. I feel sorry for Ollie having to work with that pile of crap of a squad. The players just didn't look bothered today. Hume, Clemence, Kisnorbo, Cort all awful. Seems to me the players have impressed Holloway against Bristol and now dont care and are back to their normal shitselves. Can't remember the last time we played this bad at home so consistently. Need an entire revamp of the squad in January. Those players don't deserve to play for Leicester. More jeers for Newton though even though he was one of our best players again today. Stearman was fooking no where yet again. Awful, shit, frustrating crap inconsistent Leicester at home We will probably get a result away on Tuesday
Tommy G Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Clemence sounded awful on the radio. And I stand by my opinion about him being overated. I feel sorry for people who bought tickets and wen't today, what a waste of money to pay the wages of the likes of Cort!
StroudFox Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Holloway's press conference - says all players tried and angry with fans for booing Cort - as I wasn't there is this fair?
City_4_Life Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Is anyone listening to Holloway on the radio? Hes dissapointed that the fans jeered Cort when he got subed off.
Koke Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 All I know is the jeering of Carl Cort's depature was really really uncalled for. Yes he wasn't good but it does nothing but hammer his already low confidence.
Koke Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Holloway's press conference - says all players tried and angry with fans for booing Cort - as I wasn't there is this fair? Ollie is right. Carl Cort isn't great by any means but he's been used as a scape goat more often than not. And the same happened this afternoon. Totally un-called for when they showed his number the majority of the crowd booed him.
Simi Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Well, that wasn't great. We started the game fairly well I thought, but just lacked any real conviction in the final third. After that the game just lacked any real tempo and Southampton took advantage of that. Silly goal to conceded after switching off at the back. McAuley at fault was it? Cracking strike from Andy King, but after that he seemed to disappear! I think we ended the game with to many young kids, although it's good to see them out there getting some experience.
AyewJoking Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 If you check the score predictions thread in the Competitions forum you'll see I knew we would lose today. Ollie is the man to sort us out. Look at the tremendous win at Bristol City and the inspired fight against Cardiff. Seeing as we were shit and lost today remember he still needs time, its not even his squad. Bollocks. He started with Cort and still lets our defence hoof it despite the fact it gets us nowhere.
Leicester Lass Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Back four is to blame today tbh, both of Southampton's goals came from them ****ing about with the ball and trying to play it around when we just needed to get rid of it. Not many positives to take out of the game as far as I could see. Ollie didn't sound best pleased with the fans either, and like it or not, he has a valid point.
Koke Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Considering the circumstances I don't think we did too badly. We had 4 rookies who played today as well as a half-fit Cort up front. We started the game very well and Saints were a bit on the backfoot, but eventually they stepped up their game. Nathan Dyer, Andrew Surman and Youssef Safri owned the midfield. As Ched said we ended up with too many kids on the field.
Simi Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 When Hayes stayed wide I thought he did ok, got some cracking balls into the box, some not so good though. Although at to many times in the game he was found out of position forcing us to go back. Very frustrating.
