for the first goal stearman should have got closer to dyer so then he could of challanged him. dyer was there best player today and stearman should have got closer to him and let him know that he was there but dyer ran him ragged. the only good thing about todays performance is

clemence was poor but can you suggest a lot of players that are in the championship and are better???

Yes.

The entire saints midfield for starters...

I'm totally pissed off with another underperformance at home and now I've returned to hear my son's car has been trashed and robbed of brand new stereo, MP3 player, etc etc while it was in a staff car park in the middle of the afternoon.

Am now going through exactly what I'd like to do to the next thief I come across although you wouldn't want me to repeat what my imagination has come up with.

It would certainly catch the headlines though, I can promise you that.

Fcuking lowlife.

Sharia law is too good for them...:angry::angry:

400 mile round trip to watch that crap. Newton needs to be replaced. Not sure why Kaebi isn't getting a look in, maybe he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and the management are just saying fook off.

I think we are all are own worst enermies sometimes, the team plays a bit school boyish and the fans get on their backs and then the vicious circle occurs. olly set out his stall after the match and basically said he won't tollerate any booing of players. I personally didn't boo Cort, I feel that olly was a being a bit of drama queen with his " Cort was on his death bed and he said i'll play boss"

it actually reminded me of...

I think January could be a very interesting time!

what's happened to ngotty? we had a great defensive record and then he's gone, McAuley and kisnorbo make far too many basic mistakes for my liking

i disagree, we have one/ if not the best defensive record in the championship and a lot of that has been down to these two...

He was dropped when Ollie switched to 4-4-2.

But he's still a better right-back than the appalling Stearman!

They were awful today, for Soton's second I actually thought to myself "we deserve to concede". Why we took the throwing the way we did and then pissed around with it I'll never know.??

It would be a brave man to not give them the benefit of the doubt, or a step further drop them. They deserve our backing. A bit like Rydian having a bad night on the xfactor, they should be better next time around.

I couldn't see that the throw-in would have been a problem at all if Kisnorbo had passed it straight back to Fulop. He was given the ball because he was the only player unmarked.

Having said that I wonder if our coaches ever deal with throw-in situations because there's nothing professional in the way we approach them.

First, all our players need to go much further from the ball to give themselves space to run into and receive a pass. Secondly there needs to be more movement, more cross-overs to make marking more difficult. Third the throw needs to be directed fast and to feet. These hopeful aerial throws are a lottery and have little chance of achieving anything.

All that won't come from a chat in the dressing room. It needs working on.

Holloway's press conference - says all players tried and angry with fans for booing Cort - as I wasn't there is this fair?

Wasn't there either and we sounded dire on the radio, but he is right - we need to keep supporting players even when they are... well, Carl Cort (couldn't think of a simile bad enough  ) His view is that a happy team is a good team and whilst that's not all there is to it, he's not far wrong!

I love Ollie.

Just seen his press conference.

What he said about Carl cort, i think could do Corty the world of good.

We were awful, We got what we deserved.

Obviously i'd have been delighted with the draw had we hung on, but the way we played we deserved to lose, whether penalty was harsh or not, we were awful and to say Southampton's defence was the worst in the in league yesterday you could have said ours looked the worst in the league which looking at statistics is far from it.

Posted

We were awful because we simply don't have the players to achieve anything in this league of note.

Yesterday we had, Clemence, Fulop and Cort who are new players.

Fulop as we all know has been fantastic, possibly at fault for the goal yesterday, but has put in some awesome performances lately.

Cort, well just simply hasn't been up to it so far, bar a decent game at Preston.

Finally Clemence who's been very much off th boil lately, but someone I know, will improve and offer us some stability in midfield.

Apart from that we have the same team on the pitch that battled relegation last year. They're simply not good enough.

Exactly, and no matter what manager we have they can't do anything with them.

I think someone made a quote on here last year, something like;

"If someone goes on Ready Steady Cook, and takes a bag of shit with them and says "Make a meal with that" no matter what you did at the end of the day it will taste of shit, doesn't matter if it was me cooking or Gordon Ramsey"

Sum's up our team perfect.

I'v made this point but it's not strictly true re yesterday, there was also Hayes as well as King and Sheehan who although on the books rarely if ever played. So that's 6 out of 11 and even Stearman only started about 12 games last year. On top of that we finished we 2 strikers, one making his début and one making only his 2nd sub league appearance.

The youngsters in general didn't exactly shine but it was the experienced players, last years and this who let us down.

Twas me young Matt.

I'm glad to see my thoughts on life in general have some use.

i wouldnt say the crowd booed him off?? more ironic cheers of relief! the guy played awful and didnt look interested, if he wasnt fit (what a fookin surprise!) he shouldnt have played or certainly shouldnt have come out second half!

I never actually boo our players but i must admit i do get very angry and shout at em if i think they are not justifying there place in the side. i call that passion??

Sorry but he was clearly booed off by the usual morons who claim to support our club. He obviously wasn't fit as he hadn't played for some time. However, it illustrated the problems we have. What choice did Holloway have? John injured, Hammond injured and proven to be no good, Fryatt banned for 3 games for needlessly being sent off and two completely inexperienced kids who when they came on really< if we are honest, didn't offer anything more than those who had gone off.

With the injuries we have I can't see why we didn't recall DEVries who was playing at least ok earlier on.

In terms of effort I couldn't fault the lads yesterday, we just a lacked the bit of quality which would have seen us through IMO. Southampton were no great shakes but they bossed the midfield at times and we paid for that in the end. We created enough chances to at least walk away from that game with a point.

How we missed Fryatt's intelligent runs, or Collins John's presence at the front. At times we were very very static it was unreal. Still disappointed that Kaebi hasn't been given a chance but then Mattock didn't feature either so it may be that Ollie is saving them given the number of games we have coming up.

I though the one main positive to come out of the game was Hayes- a few people have had a bit of a pop about his positional discipline but it appeared to me that he was under license to do so- Ollie certainly didn't knock him for it. With a few more games under his belt I think he has the potential to be a decent player for us, definitely.

As I'm sure I've said before, I think our back four looks more solid with Bruno in it, preferably at CB alongside Kisnorbo with Chambers at right back. The sooner that gets done the better we'll be IMO. McAuley and Kisnorbo are no good together on their own, and that was highlighted yesterday.

One final note, was impressed with how Ollie defended Cort yesterday, he didn't have a great game but there was just no need for the booing IMO. It's like my mother used to say, if you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all.

Agree 100% about the booing and Holloway was ace for defending his player. Doesn't mean the mood's going to change without the manager doing something about the reasons for so much frustration.

You saying you don't agree with the rest them?! :P

You're completely right that Ollie needs to change things, but equally people need to realise that this won't happen overnight and the best thing they can do in the meantime is to stop displaying their frustrations in such ways. It isn't doing anyone any favours.

I dont like to hear us booing our own players.

I can understand the fans reactions but each to there own.

Cort was crap but apparently he was carrying an injury and made the effort to play as he knew we had no one else.

Should he be Booed for this?

Other players were crap too.

we have issues.

It will take time to sort out.

Lets not be too hasty with the players.

As Holloway said its like a family and we should support each other through the bad times.

Im rambling again....

I don't necessarily disagree with any of the rest.

Indeed I tend to concur with most of what you say.

Ladies and gentlemen.

Thracian has finally lost it.

Quoting himself.
