LeeCovFox Posted 21 December 2007 Posted 21 December 2007 Forgot to add under worst experiences the feeling of disappointment when Brian Little left, although looking back i cant blame him, he was always going to go to Villa. But Mark McGhee had us playing some really good football, brought in class players like Pontus Kaamark. Who can forget his man marking job on Juninho? Should have added him to best player to play against city actually! When McGhee left for a "bigger club" i was gutted. Ok, wolves are a bigger name than us, but they were struggling badly. Remembering that feeling, and the reaction towards Wolves and McGhee is why i cant criticise Plymouth fans just now. But from that so much good came. We screwed over Mike Walker, appointed Martin, and beat wolves at Molineux not long afterwards. Imagine how different things could have been if Martin had left after that Sheffield United game at Filbo? That should be a lesson to all city fans who are criticising Ollie just now. Funnily enough i wasnt that disappointed when Martin went. Id learned from the Brian Little experience. He was never going to turn celtic down. The number of huge clubs he could have left for : Spurs, Leeds, Everton, even Forest who's history and name is bigger than ours at one point. Yet he stayed and gave this club the most successful 5 and a half years it has ever known. And it was so nearly prvented from hapening by a group of very fickle and vicious fans.

Bergkamps hat-trick goal when he flicked the ball past Elliot to finish. Best experience as a Leicester fan? Winning promotion the first time around just shades winning the League Cup for me. Worst player you've seen play for City? Tony Spearing Worst match you've been to see City in? West Ham 2-0 Leicester (I think that was the outcome). Back in the day when they had Bishop and Morley and were in the second tier. It wasnt that we were necessarily crap but more to the fact that they passed the ball around and we didnt have a clue. I`ll plump for the loss at Wycombe in the cup which lead to a woeful run that saw us relegated. If we won that I think we were in the semi`s, confidence would have been high and arguably we would have stayed up and not been in this current mess. For a start it were at home Also, we didn't get relegated that year we finished 13th, got relegated the following season

The Pompey fans were wound up before the game even before the game kicked off, torching one of their own pubs for the "crime" of serving an Asian City fan. After the game they invaded the pitch and tried to storm the away end, but fortunately stewards and plod were able to stop them. Gangs then roamed the streets outside the ground, smashing up cars and looking for any visitors they could get their hands on. It was a miracle that no-one was lynched that night. I'd rate Portsmouth as being a worse place to visit than Millwall.

I don't now how we got back to our coach realitively unhurt, only getting hit by a few coins along the way, I was about 18 at the time and travelled with my sister but everyone seemed fair game. It always makes me angry that they sit nicely positioned in the Premier League after that.

Collymore played well that game if I remember right. The Arsenal 3-3 is a close second. Best atmosphere you've been involved in with City? Gaining promotion at Wembley when we beat Derby would be hard to beat. Best goal you've seen City score? That Izzet overhead kick from the Impey cross. Best goal you've seen scored against City? The goal by Chris Brunt would be hard to beat. Though Bergkamp scored a peach against us in that 3-3 with Arsenal. Best experience as a Leicester fan? Either of the carling cup wins. Worst player you've seen play for City? Tough one this, personally for me, Kalac was shocking, Lewis/Lawrence wearn't world beaters, altough some of the the more recent additions like Nathan Blake, Wise or maybe Junior Lewis. When you balance it hand in hand with reputation it'd be wise. Worse out and out performance would be that goalkeeping display by Kalac.
