Graham Kavanagh and David Connolly

2 great signings there.

Connolly is class, much better than anything we have, and knows the place already.

Kavanagh would add that steel we desperately need. I've liked him since he was at Wigan and they came to the Walkers and played us off the park, and he was the driving force. Getting on a bit, but him and Clemence would run the show, though they are pretty similar.

These would be two great signings and I can see both of them wanting to come here in January!

connoly hasn't played much for Sunderland and must be looking for some first team football and similar story with Kavanagh!

Hull 2-0 Leicester

17/12/2007

Ian Holloway has given his Leicester flops four games to save their bacon.

The Foxes boss laid into his under-performers, insisting they're showing the kind of lame form to get him axed after six winless games.

Hull fans taunted Holloway with chants of 'you're getting sacked in the morning' but he insisted: "Tell Hull supporters I won't be getting sacked, the cheeky bunch of beggars.

"But if I'd have signed all these players I might damn well have expected to be sacked. I want to be judged on the players I bring in and how quickly I can turn it around."

Leicester are a point above the drop zone, and were booed off by sections of their travelling support.

Defender Patrick Kisnorbo admits: "Our form's disappointing and I can understand fans' frustration.

We're in a relegation scrap and need to stand up and be counted."

Holloway read the riot act to each individual player in an hour-long post-match dressing room inquest after Leicester were easily swept aside.

Kisnorbo added: "It was a reality check. The manager let each individual know what he thought of them. Honesty's the best policy."

Holloway insists time is running out for his current squad with an influx of players set to arrive in the January transfer window.

He added: "There are three or four games before the window opens so they've still got an opportunity.

"I told each one to their face what I think about them and they know where they stand."

Holloway will raid his old club Plymouth for skipper David Norris and Barry Hayles, and he also wants Sunderland duo Graham Kavanagh and David Connolly to help boost his relegation fight.

He added: "I'm not a fan of transfer windows, but I've never needed one to open so quickly in my life. I've got a lot more work to do than I thought."

Dean Windass teed-up Caleb Floan to power home his first goal for Hull, before sub Fraizer Campbell followed up for the second when a late Windass penalty came back off the post.

Would be happy with those 2.

Connolly wasn't exactly prolific when he was here before and Kavanagh & Clemence sounds like a recipe for more of the same inability to create anything from midfield, but slower.

Depending on the price, wouldnt be too bad although I am concerned that Ollie mentioned we needed wingers and a target man yet none of his 'potential' signings are either?!?!

He got a goal every 2.8 games. which not bad.

Fantastic footballer league infront of fryatt and hume.

Well I'm not saying he wouldn't be better than Hume & Fryatt I just wont put all my hopes on him, we were languishing at the bottom of this league with him before, not that beggers like us can be too choosy.

Would be two good signings, but Connolly?

As said before, he never exactly looked at home here, wasn't prolific but good for this division :dunno:

Surely though he would get into a top championship side, something which at the moment is beyond us.

I really hope we are looking to sign some of these named players above who have experience in this division... We are to weak and we have no leaders in there.... Clemence should be leading his pack but it seems he does not have the respect that a captain should have!

I thought Connolly was shit for us, all he did was score that hat trick then moved.

But that was back then, now he's miles better than our liability of a group of strikers we have now. Fatty Fryatt, Puts effort in not that good Hume, Carl tosser Cort, Dj Overpriced Campbell, Elvis brap Hammond.

Id take Connolly any day of the week now

Yes Please :D

Although I could never see Connolly coming back here, but i did always rate him when he was here.

Both would be good signings, as they have experience of this league - which is crucial as they won't have to adjust too much to play here.

I liked David Connolly when he was here before and Graham Kavanagh did well at sheff wed and i think he could do a good job here

connolly yes please, would love to have him back but we would need to get players in who will create chances for him. kavanagh no thanks to defensive.

If this happens then this would be great news. Connolly is top class for our divisions, he would bang goals in left, right and centre. He would make a brilliant partner to Collins John if we got him on a permanent contract.

Graham Kavanagh would be just what we need. A bit of much needed experience and some moments of magic in the middle of the park.
