Decent atmsophere in L1 too, Ipswich fans were terrible and collins John's 1st half stot was the funniest thing I've EVER seen in a football match!! Including what happened to the ref.

Ipswich fans were wank!

I disagree with you young Tommeh...The refs knock out was far more hilarious than Johns shite shot!!!

You'd have thought the ref had got caught by a Tyson left hook!!!!:crylaugh::crylaugh:

How long did the ref play today? By my reckoning we had already played 4/5 minutes before the board went up.

I'm sorry old Raj. Collins John's effort was THE funniest thing I've ever seen. Reminded me of Bert in the previous FT match.

Was this home win a result of Ollie's work or just one of Ipswich's disappointing away fixtures?

Charlton will be the test.

We were awful at The Valley - You could see the gap between us (A mid-table Championship club) and a them (A recently relegated Premiership club)

I said in another thread on Saturday I hate going into games happy to accept a draw, but I probably would on Saturday. lol

:D Must admit it was totally woefull!!!

BUT the ref??? come on...it was fcuking Brilliant...then he tried to be a hero and carry on for a bit...i was half expecting him to faint as they were walking the cvnt off!!! :crylaugh:

To be fair,City DID play better than previous times.

Ipswich were shite BUT we played well.

We did actually TRY and play football at times so Ollie must be doing something right!

Ok... we won but the goals came from defenders and set pieces.

Strikers are still not scoring (though they had some excellent chances today...)

I see your point, and it is a potential problem, but at the end of the day I couldn't give a shit who scores, aslong as we score and win as we did today!

We were quite good today. Quite good not very good and far from excellent but at least we played as a team. Ipswich were, like many other teams in this league distinctly average.

On the plus side we won comfortably and didn't conced a goal. N'gotty looked to stabilize the back four and this has helped us defnesively where we are undoubtedly susceptible to the ball played on the floor to feet of quick strikers. Our set pieces seem to have improved and Ipswich didn't seem to cope very well with them. The balance of the team looked better and there was at last some self belief and some togetherness that has been missing this season. fryatt showed some great touches and we tried to play soem decent football. The chance Hume should have put away at the end was the culmination of soem excellent play.

On the down side we still look very vulnerable at left back and Kisnorbo was turned far too easily on occasion. Most worrying though is that we created hardly any chances from open play and the formation adopted by Ollie is surely a recognition that we have virtually no attacking options from wide positions. We are also clearly lacking a true out and out striking option. John is not, for me, the answer and hopefully we can address these issues in January.

But a win is great news and it would be churlish to complain too much but if we can beat Charlton then there maybe real hope of a recovery especially with the transfer window about to open.

Really enjoyed todays game, played well and the kop was ok. Ipswich might have been WANK or maybe we where just too good for them ? Start of the month, got really fed up with Leicester and missed 2 home games but now i got that loving feeling back !!! Even going QPR now :scarf:

The ref getting knocked out was the funniest thing i've ever seen ... Collins John shot though was nearly has funny :crylaugh:

Good overall performance and I went home happy. Stearman looked a changed boy and I'm ever so happy for him. May it long continue. Our defence were rather solid overall and I thought Clemence was good as well. Ian Hume started brightly, shoulda scored right at the end though but he took one touch too many I suppose.

Fryatt impressed me. He played great today. Held up the ball well, ran at defenders etc. This is the Fryatt we want to see every week.

After the Hull City shambles, things could only get better. And it got better Wolves, and today was a step even better. We tried to create chances but strangely enough our forwards was offside a bit too much. I was a bit suspicious of the linesman at the far side.

Good over-all efficient performance and hopefully we'll carry this into Charlton.

If Thracian praised Fryatt it means he played really well.

Fryatt played very well indeed. He was a constant threat and also held the ball up well. And all credit to him.

Oh what fun (and surprise) it is to see Leicester win at HOME (and on a Boxing Day).

Can we double home our wins this season against Charlton?

Decent win and a decent performance.

I'm not going to nit pick anything because it wasn't perfect, but I just want to say we did really really well as a team today and never REALLY looked like losing. The change in the amount of movement going forward was truly amazing. For me Stearman was MOM with Kisnorbo close behind. I don't feel like I should single anyone else out, cause pretty much everyone had a good game, but N'Gotty has made a real change to our midfield. The man has a great football brain and likes to play the ball on the FLOOR and through the opposition rather than using the lump ball. Fryatt also did really well, dropping deep and linking the play really well. He just really needs a goal now!

I'm not going to get too excited, but I hope this is the sign of things to come...

lol lol lol

Are you serious?

The ball clipped him and he goes down like Ronaldo in the penalty area.

No wonders the refs are so anti-contact these days, when thats how they react when they get clipped by a bloody football.

You don't know how poweful it was going. You were in the stand as was I.

Perhaps it hit him in a strange spot on the head?

How do you know he's got a strange spot on his head?
