Tommy G Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 So basically this thread has gone from Henderson being shite between the sticks to bring Marton Fulop back? That doesn't look likely, we've just about got rid of the 'Kaiebi bumming fan club' and now were on the verge of a Fulop version of the same thing. Theres been a lot lot better plays at the club that have come and gone, we've got over it. Its about time some people on here face the fact that it is UNLIKELY that Fulop will becoming back here! It is frustrating that he's gone, especially with the shit thats replaced him - Henderson. In fact, before I go on....its basically all a load of shit at city at the minute, and hammering the keyboard will make no difference. I hope the city lads sit comfy in ther Range Rovers on the way home this evening
dandannieldanok Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 the same defenders had 1 of the best defensive records in the league when Fulop was in goal ... .....or to be more precise, when Megson overloaded the team with 8 defenders we had the best defensive record.
Jimmy Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 .....or to be more precise, when Megson overloaded the team with 8 defenders we had the best defensive record. even when we went back to 4-4-2 we weren't shipping goals like in the past 2
Jay Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 The thing about Fulop is that, should a cross come in, no-one, not fans or players, are particularly worried. Fulop seems to cope with crosses as if they're completely routine.Defenders don't need to crowd the area too deeply because Fulop's big arms stretch up and invariably pluck the ball from the air with a minimum of fuss. With Henderson it's always a bit of a lottery. Defenders don't know whether he'll deal with the trouble or if they'll have to and uncertainty develops. In some ways I'm glad the change in confidence has been so noticeable. It emphasises only too clearly how important it is to invest in a quality goalkeeper. have to agree with that think I said somewhere else Henderson is shocking has no control of his area whatsoever, leaves defenders infront of him uncertain, it's so obvious that they have no idea what the hell he is going to do and I don't think he does either. he can't catch, can't kick has no positional sense and is a liability you should have trust and understanding between defenders and Keeper and that just isn't there with Henderson and never will be a new keeper is a must

Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Nope... I've always thought that the likes of McAuley, Kisnorbo etc... get away with far too much, but Fulop (or any half decent keep) was able to compensate for their lapses, Hendo simply isnt capable of doing that. But that is what good keepers do - they improve defenders performances cos they boss the box
reynard Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 At the moment we simply don't have any choice but to play him. Fulop looks out of reach and 3m would be ok if we were in with a chance of going up but at the moment we desperately need a midfield. Logan is on loan douglas has been told to get stuffed. god knows what would happen if henederson got injured.
Bert Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 why is anyone surprised he's shit, he wasn't good enough to play for BRADFORD before we signed him, either recall Logan immediately or pay the £3m for Fulop, which is a fooking bargain when it gets Henderson out of the team... Logan won't do any better than Hendo.
Big Ol' Bob Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Get Jimmy Walker in from West Ham on a free, he won promotion out of this division not too long ago and is a great keeper.
Joe. Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 You know what? Who gives a shit about this £3 million price tag on Fulop's head? Pay it. After this showing we need a ****ing good goalkeeper. Henderson's a total liability in goal for us. I seriously think Fulop would have done better with both of Southampton's goals. The man is useless and we need somebody new in. Fast. We can't keep playing him in goal or we'll continue this slide downwards.

We can't keep playing him in goal or we'll continue this slide downwards. True story. I don't think it's any coincidence that since Fulop's gone back we've had two of the worst games of the season. Henderson is woeful, personally I think he should've done better with two of the QPR goals as well. I really don't like him. We need a keeper, whether its Fulop, Alnwick on loan or whatever.
lildave3 Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 Footwork was woeful for the first goal, it really was.
filbertway Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 The second goal The first I'll let him off with as it was hardly an easy one to save.
WetFlannel Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 In the sun newspaper it gave him a rating of 7
sdb Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 not a great keeper but better than Logan. we need Fulop so badly.
Jack Posted 6 January 2008 Posted 6 January 2008 He is a liability. As he shown yesterday. He should of saved the first one and god knows what went on with the second, but we desperatley need a new keeper in, preferably Fulop.
