Trav Le Bleu Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 Nah, don't worry about it. My other half has sinned far greater than being a Derby fan, I actually had to explain the rules of the game to her as we sat and watched Leicester against Notts County in the pre season game. Then she had the cheek to say it was cold and she was bored! She's better than the previous one though, who'd thought that they'd changed shirts at half time, I actually had to explain they'd changed ends. Yeah, at least she actually likes football, which is a start! Admittedly it's the wrong "kind" of football, but in the immortal last line of Some Like It Hot, "Meh, nobody's perfect!" One of the things that I am proudest of my wife (that sounds wrong, but can't think of another way of putting it) is that she understands football, offside and everything! The fact that she supports Liverpool (though with City a close second and she usually comes matches with me) is only a minor technical hitch!
Steven Posted 9 January 2008 Posted 9 January 2008 That sounds terrible.Leicester have had passages of passing play which last longer than my sexual endeavours... If you will excuse the expression, under which Manager?
Rincewind Posted 9 January 2008 Posted 9 January 2008 As the saying goes the worlds getting smaller. You don't have to be born close to the ground of the team you support. Football's on the TV nearly every day and you can get to most grounds within a few hours. No 5 hour jouney on a horse and cart to travel 3 miles. I'm only a Leicester fan because I was born in Leicester. If I had leant to drive when younger I could be traveling all over the country to see different teams. Not bothered which. I'd just choose a game that looks interesting. Staunch die hard fans will be shocked by this revalation. But no matter which game I watch I will cheer on City if they are involved.. Just go for the date. If she is a nice girl and fun to be with football will have a secondary importance. I doubt that she'll be worrying about the fact that you are a City fan just your bank account.
The People's Hero Posted 9 January 2008 Posted 9 January 2008 No 5 hour jouney on a horse and cart to travel 3 miles. Blimey, horses must have come on a bit since you were a kid.
Durnerz Posted 9 January 2008 Posted 9 January 2008 I once went out with a Derby fan who's dad worked within the club. Talk about going deep behind enemy lines
JadeFalcon Posted 9 January 2008 Posted 9 January 2008 Who gives a flying monkey who she follows whats more important getting ya end wet or football ........................i know for me sex lasts longer than any football match so i know which i'd choose is that because the FA let you use all 5 substitutes ?
Floating Fox Posted 9 January 2008 Posted 9 January 2008 All my mums side of the family were Derby fans when my old man first met her. She soon turned. Your old man
cisono Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 Before i start i just want to make it clear im not the one night stand kind of person or the casual sex kind of person either. I'm a Christian and she is a Christian too. I'd love to ask for sensible responses only but i fear thats beyond some of you.. ... She is a Derby fan! what do i do?!? i mean... she lives in Derby and everything!!! No problem. Just convert her!
MikeyT Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 I could b nice about this BUT...Dont be a fcuking cretin!!! Just go out with her and see how it goes. Dont let her supporting Derby influence things! She's probably more worried about meeting a fcuking Leicester City supporter!!!! Fcuk sake i feel like Dear Deirdre!!! Go with the flow Bro!!!!! Rofl...dear deidre!!
Monk Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 She's a Christian? isn't thou shalt not support Derby in Genesis Chapter 3 verse 33?
