davieG Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 To mark the occasion of the opportunity to watch a game of actual football at the Walkers Stadium and a rare home win, unbeaten at home in 2008 a special one off MOM poll. Unbeaten @ home in 2008
Koke Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Its a toss up between Laczko and Oakley. I've chosen Oakley, thought he was great today. Not only did he break up play but he also rarely gave the ball away. His awareness is excellent and he's a very intelligent player.
Matt Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Lackzo Or Oakley, or Howard...Infact the whole team, Barr Stearman!

lildave3 Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Oakley for me aswell, but everyone played well.
Fox You Forest Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Although the Zsolt and Oakley were good i went for Kisnorbo Held the line very well today caught them offside every other attack, Just thought i would stray away from the new players because i know they will get plenty of mentions on here.
WetFlannel Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Laczko was so good I got him on my shirt after the match... He was orgasmic
Mikey Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Laczko was so good I got him on my shirt after the match... He was orgasmic Have you got long hair ? I saw someone with Laczko on the back of their shirt on the bus on the way home, quite near Greenhill.
WetFlannel Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Have you got long hair ?I saw someone with Laczko on the back of their shirt on the bus on the way home, quite near Greenhill. I don't think it was me as I wasn't wearing it... I had my Porter one on
Mikey Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 I don't think it was me as I wasn't wearing it... I had my Porter one on Ah, OK, It weren't Porter definitely Messi. Oops I mean Laczko.
Finnegan Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 The plaudits will go to Zsolt. I, myself, raved about him. But in all honesty, it was the Matt Oakley show today. Fantastic maturity around the pitch, made such a difference.
Jimmy Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Oakley for me, completed the full 90 and his very presence lifted Clemence
Leonisco Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 The plaudits will go to Zsolt. I, myself, raved about him. But in all honesty, it was the Matt Oakley show today. Fantastic maturity around the pitch, made such a difference. Agreed. I voted for Zsolt because I'm so ecstatic we've finally got a quick, skilful winger who can brighten up a game. But as you say, if we are honest, Oakley was the difference today, absolutely bossed the midfield. He is exactly the type of player we've been crying out for, someone who will pick the ball up in midfield and run forwards with it. Sounds simple, but that's what we've been missing for a few years now.
Ultra Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Oakley was Premier League class today. His tackling and distribution was superb. Can't believe the sheep only asked £500k for him. Holloway may well have pulled off the bargain of the season.
WetFlannel Posted 12 January 2008 Posted 12 January 2008 Ah, OK, It weren't Porter definitely Messi. Oops I mean Laczko. I do actually have an Argentina Messi shirt! I shall start wearing that to games now
Thracian Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Oakley for me. He was so influential. Did well himself and allowed others to do well. That run of 20/30 passes - when have we ever done that this season? Laczko was a revelation too but despite so many good things and the very fact we had a genuine winger for once, he actually missed some good opportunities. I made allowance for those - and why not - because it really was a treat to see someone run at people and give em a nightmare. But for me the major influence was Oakley. On the team and several individuals.

sdb Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 laczko or hume but i'll give it to the debutant seeing as it was his 1st game and he fit in so well
Austin Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Oakley. No Doubt about it. Although everyone played reasonably well today.
Corky Posted 13 January 2008 Posted 13 January 2008 Its a tough one, but would probably go for Lazcko. He was superb, running hard at the defence, getting good crosses in, plenty of step-overs as well. Oakley was quality, played it simple, some great passes and tackles, which rubbed off on Clemence, who had his best game for us. Humey's first touch was exceptional, especially from the high-balls, and big Stevie was a threat all game. Everyone played well, great win, shut the Coventry chavs up. Need to build on it next week.
