Big Ol' Bob Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Cannot believe this guy hasn't been choose for the squad, considering he should be Englands number one in many peoples eyes. David James will be 40 by the time its the World Cup, Carson freezes and is generally a poor keeper, Kirkland isn't exactly having the time of his life at Wigan. Rob Green has saved 3 penalties this season and has kept West Ham's consistancy this year for them. Poor Decision Capello, and as for Curtis Davies and Owen.............
Samilktray Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Typical England fan. Getting on the great mans back already.

Micheal Owen is the only world class out and out striker this country has.
Fox You Forest Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Green should be in the squad but i would play David James he has been quality for the last 2 years or so.
Head Honcho Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Micheal Owen is the only world class out and out striker this country has. He may have been on the fringes of world class at one point in his career but he is far from world class these days. Liverpool and Real Madrid were both better teams after he left, no coincidence if you ask me.
Joe. Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Micheal Owen is the only world class out and out striker this country has. Not anymore. Injuries have wrecked his career and he isn't half the player he used to be nowadays.
Koke Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Micheal Owen is the only world class out and out striker this country has. Michael Owen's priorities in life. 1. His 100 grand a week. 2. His horse racing 3. England . . . . . . 453. Newcastle United.
AyewJoking Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Why no Paul Robinson, is he injured or just dropped?
Joe. Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Why no Paul Robinson, is he injured or just dropped? Nope, just shit.
AyewJoking Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 He's Englands best keeper if you ask me. (Havent really watched Green)
Maybes Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 He's Englands best keeper if you ask me. (Havent really watched Green)
Tommy G Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Micheal Owen is the only world class out and out striker this country has. Mr Rooney? Or are you not classifying him as a striker?
Tommy G Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Nope, just shit. too right. About time he was dropped. Rob Green isn't the answer. James for me
James. Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Problem is James will be 40 come South Africa 2010. While keepers can obviously still play (and play well) at that age it would be nice if we gave some proper experience to the eventual replacements. I'd like to see Green, Foster, Kirkland, Carson and Hart all given an opportunity to prove they can make the position their own.

I think it will be Foster - if he can recreate the form he had playing for Watford then he will be strides ahead of the other youngsters. Should replace VDS at uts next season aswell if he's fit. Who was the last eng number one playing at the best club in the country?

Who was the last eng number one playing at the best club in the country? Seaman?
Tommy G Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Yeh it was a question as I wasn't sure. James after seaman was very shakey, we haven't had anyone as reliable as ponytail since he retired IMO
Hugo Sanchez Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Yeh it was a question as I wasn't sure. James after seaman was very shakey, we haven't had anyone as reliable as ponytail since he retired IMO Yea i agree, since David Seaman has retired there's been no good english keepers. We mocked Seaman but he in his day was one of the best. He was a real Englands number 1 unlike the shower we have now.
Ric Flair Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 A lot of the English keepers are a much of a muchness right now. Luckily our defence is usually steady (Croatia home and away and Russia away aside). Carson, Green and Kirkland are all pretty similar. James has experience but has made more mistakes than these 3 put together and you have to question why he should be allowed to make up for those mistakes at such a late stage in his career. Foster looked good before his injury, but is he any better than Kirkland, Green or Carson? Robinson has had a bad couple of years. He was a goalie who looked to have a massive future ahead of him but he's gone off the boil. I like the look of Joe Hart at Man City, but it's early days for him.
the_bowman Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Micheal Owen is the only world class out and out striker this country has. Nah, I disagree. I agree that he is a good player, but just so injury prone he's a risk. And Rooney? Definately world class imo.
lildave3 Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Micheal Owen is the only world class out and out striker this country has. I do believe you've forgot Emile.
WetFlannel Posted 1 February 2008 Posted 1 February 2008 Give Carson another shot. It was unfair on the lad putting him in THAT game, and he obviously wasnt ready for one of the most tense England games in years. He needs a fair crack at the whip.
