Mark Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 We are on the lookout for a couple new Moderators. The basic requirements are that you must be at least 18, be able to spot potentially damaging posts and rectify situations fairly and maturely. If you are interested please send a Private Message to any of the admin team along with a few words on why you would be a good choice. Advice/training on merging, deleting etc will be provided as required! I've also set up something new which will be forum leaders, so those who would prefer to look after a certain forum, you can, and there are no ages limits for this. Thanks.
WetFlannel Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I didn't know Nationwider was a mod. Did this happen recently?
davieG Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I didn't know Nationwider was a mod. Did this happen recently? He's always been one
Mark Posted 10 February 2008 Author Posted 10 February 2008 Also, say if you're not based in the lcfc forum but more in General Chat and another forum, I can assign you to moderate just those forums. That would make you a forum leader which is something I'm going to set up instead of a moderator who should keep an eye out on all forums.

Daggers Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Ched, Phube, Raj, Singh, Flynny, Babylon and Alexie should be at the top of the list.
lildave3 Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Ched, Phube, Raj, Singh, Flynny, Babylon and Alexie should be at the top of the list. Get it done

Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I love Raj. Don't make him do it, he'd have to stop calling people twats and stuff.
LeeCovFox Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I think Daggers should get it. Or Ched. Daggers and Raj would be my picks.
Mark Posted 10 February 2008 Author Posted 10 February 2008 May I ask why is 18 the limit? Not that i'm thinking of asking like, just curious to know. I've just set up something new though which are forum leaders, so those who would prefer to look after a certain forum can just look after that forum, and there are no ages limits for this. I prefer Moderators to be 18+ as they have to do their best to keep an eye on most things and it's not that easy, certainly needs a mature head at times!
Joe. Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 JTB would be a good choice I think if he wanted it.

So long as you're not so rigid as to turn down an otherwise acceptable candidate purely on age grounds

We should trust your judgement on this. Opening the posts up to election would not be a great move.
Alexikokopops Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I think Daggers should get it. Or Ched. Daggers and Raj would be my picks. Daggers has been a moderator before, dunno if he'd be keen again. He'd edit people's posts to put made up words like "truculent" in there anyway, he can't be trusted.
potter3 Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 It says Forum Leader under Ched's name, does this mean he moderates a certain forum(s)?
lildave3 Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 It says Forum Leader under Ched's name, does this mean he moderates a certain forum(s)? Ticket news and Travel it seems.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I reckon JTB would be good but I don't think he gets on here that much.
LeeCovFox Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I reckon JTB would be good but I don't think he gets on here that much. I've only begun posting regularly recently, so can't claim to be able to back up my personal picks as well as a lot of you can. One thing I will say though, is that for all the disagreements, the banter is great, and the conversation is generally enlightening on here. I was browsing Plymouth's pasoti site a couple of days ago, and they seem to be having real problems, with moderators having gone on strike for a few days because of the level of innappropriate and personal abuse. In light of that I'd just like to say how lucky we are to have such a well run and, to a large extent, civilised forum in which to post. I think it says all we need to know about this place that there are numerous candidates who would make outstanding moderators and forum leaders.
Samilktray Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I think the power will go to Cheds head. Hes already sounding very egotistical.
