Personally, and this is comng from a new poster, I think we are pretty lucky to have a forum with the banter and discussion that can be had on these boards. I've heard mentions, sarcatically or not I'm not sure, of the "good old days". I don't really care. Because this is the board we have now and its not going to go back is it? As far as I can work out, there is some bad blood about Mod and Forum Leader appointments. Is it really that bad an idea to give new people a go at doing this? Before letting people have it, I would suggest allowing people the time and space to actually do the job rather than criticising them before they have even had a chance to get going. If people really think that some of the appointments are that bad, it really is tough luck. If they prove to be as misguided as some people believe, then I'm sure they will fall on their own swords in time. If there are people who express views which I find distasteful, I will either tell them so, or ignore them. What I won't do is spend time waging vendettas. Frankly, I have a life outside of the internet and I don't have time to waste the energy on petty virtual fights. The last couple of days has been dominated by the fall out over these appointments. They are not going to change, and personally I think such annoyance should stay private. Pm an admin, and register your disapproval if you must. But do it once and once only. But don't expect any changes to be made on that basis. Because the forum cannot run like that. Can we just get back to being a proper forum? I'm not sure if anybody has noticed but City have a match tonight. That's an interesting post but would be more readable if you put some paragraphs in it.

Strange idea you may think but Mods in my opinion should be neuted neutral in order to do their modding efficiently. So would not be able to get involved in disputes. They would have to talk civally to each other. TPH would have to cut down on his teenage jesting and Thrach and Ultra would have to treat all posters equally. They also would have to converse with each other in a civil manner. Perhaps a teacher may agree or disagree with this, but if a school sets up a pupil/teacher committee it sometimes is better to put the school bully on it. The reason being that they will know what a bully is like and the responsibility will make them grow up. It is usually the ones who shout loudest that get positions of power which applies to the suggestions for mods I made. There may be others that fit the catagory outlined but I just read the posts not the personalities of the posters. Sometimes I dont even look at who posted a message. The sig is a clue though.
