This team like Ric says is crying out for two good wingers.

Bori and Lackzo looked great on their debuts, but then again so did the whole team. Since then nothing's gone right. For players like Steve Howard who thrive on play from the wings to succeed, we need two better wingers fast.

We've already failed on Scott Sinclair so we need to turn our attentions elsewhere, or risk our status in this division even further.

Edit: Where is this coming from about Kishishev on the wing by the way?

I think its because the last game he played for us, was on the left wing.

Cant see it mesen though,

Probably because no one believes he would drop Clemence or Oakley and he genarally favours a 442, well at least until 5 minutes after we've kicked off. I guess that only leaves a wing position to put Kish into :dunno:

A defensive minded central midfielder playing on the left wing for a side that can't get a short on target nevermind score is CLEARLY the answer to our problems.

If Holloway does that it'll be one step closer to relegation as far as I'm concerned.

Ric, the thing is though is that if both the Hungarians play and we finish the game as ineffective as ever, Ollie will get slaughtered. If he doesn't play with wingers but play with a more 4-3-3 approach and that doesn't pay of either, he'll get slaughtered.

Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.

Players should take a lot more responsibility.

Haha!!! That's one of the funniest things i've read in a long while and something i've never even thought of before.

Let's not put out our strongest team just incase we still look crap, instead pick a shit house of a team and at least when we are crap the fans have some hope it will get better once we play our full strength team.

Genius.

Your strongest team differs from mine, and mine differs from Thracian's. And his differs from Ollie's.

Okay, our potentially strongest midfield is Bori - Oakley - Clem - Laz -- but that midfield has been incredibly ineffective for some time now. But hey, let's not change that midfield because its our strongest (potentially), even though its blatantly obvious that it is not working right now.

But nice try though with your sarcasm.

I thought he'd only used it for 1.5 games, successfully for 90 minutes against Cov at home and 45 minutes disastrously against Norwich away (hope my memory on this is good otherwise this is going to be so much bollocks)

Sometimes you have to persevere with a system/players for it to develop and improve, Ollie seems incapable of sticking to a system for longer than 30 minutes. sure he needs to change and try things but not at the expense of giving something a real chance to develop.

Quite the opposite. The majority of the time that midfield has played together coincides with the best performance we have shown for quite some time.

So you reckon we should go with that midfield tomorrow?

Don't you think drafting Weso in the team would be a good option, even if it means sacrificing Clemence? Or maybe changing formation with Oakley-Clem-Weso as a 3 man midfield? :dunno:

I think we should definitely play Laczko and Bori on the wings.

I also think Clemence should be dropped, particularly after watching him be so ineffective against Watford.

So I guess I'd look for more of an attacking impetus and play King alongside Oakley. Credit to Manwell for putting the idea of King in to my head.

Bori - Oakley - King - Laczko

If you don't believe this team requires two wingers, then you have no right to be upset with the way things are going right now because you're getting your just deserts.

I appreciate everyone has different opinions, but my gripe is Holloway moaned and moaned and moaned and moaned and....erm moaned about how the reasons behind the problems at this club especially on the pitch was the lack of balance, especially out wide. He said that would be resolved in January.

He hasn't resolved that. He's played 2 wingers from the start in only 2 games since January, one we won and the other we drew, albeit we were fortunate to steal a point.

Since then we've looked disjointed, have looked to go route one at every opportunity and haven't scored more than a token goal here and there for a while now. It doesn't take much soul searching to work out where the problems lie.

How can these Hungarians perform if a) they aren't given a decent chance and b) if the players around them don't supply them with the service to do their jobs? I wouldn't mind if we had alternatives but we clearly don't.

There are a number of different angles you can look at it from.

Hayes and Gradel should be here.

We should be looking to sign first-choice wingers having missed out on Lee Martin and Scott Sinclair.

Barry Hayles is not a winger.

etc etc

The bottom line is that I have the afternoon off and I'm sitting here reading Foxestalk drinking beer instead of ploughing my way through my new distance learning course material that arrived this morning.

Hayes and Gradel should be here.

At the time Hayes went out on loan, he's too young to play in the Championship was the reason mentioned, I imagine the same applied to Maxi.

Then we brought in two wingers of similar ages who had never stepped foot in England before, comical really. :giggle:

Thracian has spent the best part of two years banging on about Andy King and you're giving the credit to Manwell! lol

:giggle:

I was referring to the idea of playing King in this particular game which Manwell suggested a couple of days ago. But yeah I can see where you're coming from..! That said I heard Manwell quite rates some young left back we've got on loan. Killer set piece taker apparently, maybe we should give him a go as well.

Just found this preview of the game... sums it up quite well for me!!!

Holloway foxed by expectations

Leicester v Norwich

If Ian Holloway was under any illusions about the expectation levels at Leicester City, then the reaction to Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at Watford will have opened his eyes a little.

Forget the fact that Aidy Boothroyd’s bruisers are one of the most fearsome and physical intimidating teams in the Championship, a unit that pulls together like no other when they are backed up against a wall.

Forget the fact that Holloway is still trying to stamp his identity on a dressing room that is suffering the inevitable consequences of prolonged instability, a team now trying to accommodate yet another influx of new faces acquired during the January transfer window.

Those mitigating factors and the disparity in the league table count for little because Leicester played the second half against 10 men, so naturally they should have overturned a one-goal deficit and put the league leaders to the sword in their own backyard.

The phrase delusions of grandeur doesn’t begin to sum up the task facing Holloway over the coming months and his cause won’t be helped by tabloid rumours that Milan Mandaric is already lining up his replacement.

The former Plymouth chief will be far from satisfied with only four wins in 14 games since his arrival in November but his pressing concern will be to keep a lid on expectations at the Walkers Stadium because the weight of pressure on the players’ shoulders will only make matters worse.

This weekend, Leicester face a Norwich side unbeaten in 13 games and there is no doubt they will be expected to win.

It probably matters little that the Canaries have won four of their last five matches on the road and that they possess a striker of genuine Premiership quality in Manchester City’s Ched Evans.

Three points will be the minimum requirement, or there will be hell to pay.

Expect Leicester to be booed off the field after picking up a creditable point against Glenn Roeder’s men.

Verdict: Leicester 1-1 Norwich

For the love of God, I did not say we don't need wingers.

My point was if Holloway plays both wingers and still we play shit and lose, then this place will be unbearable. Certain people, they know who they are, will still be rolling on the Ollie Out bandwagon.

I'm sure Laz and Bori will come good in the long run eventually. And yes, they need games to get the grip of Championship football. But we are not a midtable team who can afford to let our foreign outfits settle in nice and slow. We are a bottom team fighting relegation, thus we need players for right now. Not players for next month or next season, but players who can get out of this mess right now.

I want wingers in our team just like everyone else. And so does Holloway as he's been banging on about it ever since he's been here, but I can just foresee that even he plays with two wide men and we fail miserably he'll still get hammered by certain sections of our fanbase.

So expecting to win at home has now become illusions of granduer :dunno: or did I misread that!

So he should be, we've no capable wingers they've only performed in their debut performance which even Josh Low managed. He simply has to change formation until we've got quality in that area, and stop pissing about with strikers all over the shop.
