The Norwich fans are really up for this one, i hope they don't outsing us all game, Leicester fans need to show their voices for this one.

Lets hope the atmosphere isn't a repeat of Plymouth - despite all the hype.

Indeed.

I was reading on one of their forums the other day, they're well up for this one. Not won here in a while have they?

They've won here the last 2 seasons

Oh, fair enough.

Not much thought has gone into that, I've just remembered how much they loved beating us last season.

Too early to think. I must've read it wrong on their forum!

Whats the money on another McAuley own goal, didnt he score own goals in both games against Norwich last season?

I've got a feeling it will be a scrappy 1-1 draw today, with both goals coming early on.

Looks like we need to sign Lady Luck!

From the Merc

10:30 - 16 February 2008

Ian Holloway is pleading for a change of fortune when his Leicester City team take on Norwich City at the Walkers Stadium this afternoon (3.0).

Funnily enough, in the away clash with the Canaries last month, Holloway did admit his side had ridden their luck for a 0-0 draw, with goalkeeper Ben Alnwick the hero as the home side dominated.

But that was the exception as far as Holloway is concerned, and he now believes City are due a break.

He said: "If luck does even itself out over a season, we have got a lot coming to us from now on.

"In the last two games alone, we have had perfectly good goals ruled out wrongly for offside and, against Plymouth, a clear penalty for handball.

"Going further back, Patrick Kisnorbo was wrongly sent off at Ipswich for a penalty wrongly awarded at a crucial part of the game when the score was 1-1.

"The referee apologised afterwards but it was too late then and we lost the game.

"All those incidents were match-turning ones so when are we ever going to get a break? That's what I want to know.

"I felt really sorry for the players at Watford when I thought they played well and got nothing.

"But their performance was something and, if they keep doing that, they will eventually get their reward."

"We have had more than our share of bad luck so far but the lads are looking forward to Norwich."

Holloway was angry that he seemed to be going into this game with his job appearing to be under threat because of speculation.

However, City chairman Milan Mandaric moved quickly to dispel the rumours. But the easiest way to do that is for City to get that elusive sequence of good results. Holloway has brought some of his own players into the club now and, after only a few weeks, he is still settling them in, and there might have been more additions.

However, Chelsea have blocked the proposed loan of winger Scott Sinclair, who was at Plymouth under Holloway last season, while Isaiah Osbourne is still needed by Aston Villa.

Earlier this week Holloway said he has the players with the ability to effect a cure to their current ills. The pressure is now on them to perform.

The Walkers Stadium pitch, a cause for concern recently, is expected to be in much better condition for tomorrow's game against Norwich.

The pitch needed to be spiked to aid ventilation, but because of the wet conditions the machines could not be used. The work, however, has now been done.

The problem dated back to former City boss Gary Megson's habit of training on the pitch before matches.

Moreover, a marathon FA Youth Cup tie against Crystal Palace on January 8, four days before the home clash with Coventry, did not help as the youngsters went to extra time, meaning 120 minutes in a torrential downpour, before they won 3-2.

There has been a clear improvement and as yet City have no plans to re-lay the pitch in the summer.

Get the youth playing - even if they are 'not ready'. I'd rather watch a team of kids who are giving it 110% than watch the half arsed effort certain members of the current team are putting in

Echo's my sentiments. Lets get back to the good old days of the early 80's. GET THE KIDS IN!

Having supported the club from the early 90's, what concerns me is the lack of talent coming through the youth setup. The only players that spring to mind who have been successful from the youth team setup I can count on one hand - Heskey, Piper, Stewart, Stearman, Mattock. Maybe I've missed a few but surely more should have come through than this? I'm no expert on the youth setup but perhaps someone could enlighten me as to why more players aren't coming through.

Thracian - over to you...

I hope DJ gets a goal, i think he is a good player he just needs the service.

Well we're all praying :giggle:

I have changed my mind and shall be going today. The sun is shining and we are gonna win 4-0 and play some great football. Then later Arsenal shall win 3-0 and it will be a great day.

CMON U BLUE BOYS !!!!

There's plenty of talent. You've missed Wesolowski, Gradel, Porter, King, Beswick, Shush!, Logan, Dodds but people have got to show some faith while they make the final transition and they've got to be used in a side which compliments the pass and move style they've been brought up with.

No I don't think all would necessarily succeed in the Championship buit they've a better chance than many we've used in our first team these last 12 months.

But sadly our team for the moment has no style. And it includes players who never will play in my idea of unified all attack/all defend team.

I've mentioned Stanley Matthews before regarding youg players and he said the biggest difference between them and experienced players is consistency. Well our young players are no different but that's no excuse for not using them, though sensibly, because unlike Stan's experienced team-mates, ours aren't consistent nor very effective in some cases.

Exiling almost all of them in one way or another and relying on Dad's Army plus the Hungarians has been ridiculous. It has left us short of options and with major weaknesses in the side.

I'd have more to say but I'm off the the match.
