foxer Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 That was supposed to be tongue in cheek..I saw Kasey play at the U. of Portland. Just found this about Kasey on the Official US "soccer" site: "One of the world’s finest goalkeepers, he possesses an uncanny shot-stopping ability and a penchant for making key saves" Jokers!
Bridge Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Official "soccer site" withstanding..it's still only an opinion. You know what they say about opinions..They're like assholes, everybodys got one. World class keeper..afraid not..but he did OK for us during the MON years.
MPH Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 well im sorry lads but i think he was one of the best keepers we have ever had. I also remember him getting man of the match playing for the states against Brazil.. dont remember who but one of the brazilians said after the game he was one of the best keepers he has ever played against. Dont mistake the Casey Keller of today with the young Casey Keller in his prime. EDIT: Found the game in question: Perhaps his most famous clean sheet came in the historic 1998 win vs. Brazil. Keller played all 90 minutes in goal and made ten saves, many from point blank range, in preserving the 1–0 shutout victory for the U.S. His performance in goal prompted Brazilian great Romario to remark “That is the best performance by a goalkeeper I have ever seen.”[4] Additionally, it was the subject of the song "Kasey Keller" by synth-pop band Barcelona.
87fox Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Just to say I saw Friedel in the same row as Milan on Tuesday night also
Babylon Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Just to say I saw Friedel in the same row as Milan on Tuesday night also Glad you're still using my sig... that was a while back!!!
hackneyfox Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 The Keller that we had during the MON years would walk into our team with no problem nowadays, the problem is that after 4 weeks under Mike Stowell he'd be flapping like the rest of them. Can you work out where the problem lies?

I was sure Boro would score but he blocked it.
Jack Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 I'd run round the whole of Leicester Bollocko if we signed Friedel. Never gonna happen
Fox You Forest Posted 6 March 2008 Posted 6 March 2008 Didnt he sign a 1 year contract extension not long ago?
