Fight Club and Shawshank are both brilliant, simple as. Get me yeh?

I also love Garden State which has been mentioned.

I was pleasantly surprised with Garden State, i thought that JD would make a crap director and thought he was a long way from sacred heart. Its a good story of self discovery.

I like a lot of films 21 Grams, The Big Blue, Apocalypse Now, Lord of The Rings. All different to each other and different moods suit different films

Fav actor / actress would be Rocco Siffredi if I had to choose one.

He is certainly one of my favourites, but i dunno about all time. I think he's probably still a bit too young to be considered up there in the all time greats list!

But he certainly has the pedigree to be one of the best in the future.

He's gone from strength to strength!

The Bourne series certainly helped his career rocket!

I think the all time greats have to be:

De Niro

Pacino

Brando

Hoffman

and even though only made 3 films i think James Dean was amazing!!!!

And i know he was young as well so had the prospect to be arguably the finest screen actor ever.

With Matt Damon and Edward Norton certainly being in the running one day.

I think Matt Damons crap but I agree with your other greats mine are probably

1: Jack Nicholson

2: Robert De Niro

3: Dustin Hoffman

4: Samuel L. Jackson

5: Denzel Washington

6: Tom Cruise

The Da Vinci Code are you serious thats a great film :dunno:

The book is good, but not great.

The film is nothing short of abysmal.

It's all about opinions though mate, if you enjoyed it, good for you. I bet I've enjoyed some films that you think are absolute cack!

Ive always thought Jack Nicholson was always the same in every film! :S

I dont see the big appeal with Denel Washington either! :dunno:

i love comedy films so for me its adam sandler, some great films little nicky, happy gilmore, the waterboy etc etc i quite like simon pegg aswell hot fuzz is great! oh and ben stiller! again with the funnies! dont know what my fave film is though, there are many! p.s. good thread!! :thumbup:

Jack nicholsons is brilliant although most of his characters have similarities this is just because his extremely strong personality shines through but he could still play any part you gave him.

With Denzel he was excellent in training day in particular but I suppose its just preference i.e I really like De Niro but never really got Al Pacino!

Fair play mate. I do think Nicholson was very good in The Departed and As Good As It Gets! :thumbup:

There was actually a film he did with Keanu Reeves a few years ago called Something's Gotta Give, which was a bit of a chick flick but nevertheless he was the best thing in the film. Theres no denying he has a great screen presence about him at all!!!

I didnt like Training Day at all, but can see how it can appeal to people.

I try to be as open minded as i can with films and actors.

Denzel Washington is a superb actor, The Hurricane, Man On Fire and John Q are sensational films. In fact he pretty much turns any mediocre film in to a great one, just by his film presence.

I am also a massive fan of Ray Winstone and Paddy Consintine from the British contingent.

I can't ever choose what my favourite film is, there are a lot of amazing films been made.

City of God takes some beating though.

...........off to Rio for a fortnight in May so must see this before I go!

On second thoughts maybe I should wait until I get back :unsure:

The 2 from Hot fuzz and Shawn of the dead - They are an excellet duo.

No, sorry, you're talking bollox. Simon Pegg is vastly over rated and Adam Sandler sucks ass.

Yeah i like Simon Pegg as well. Again though, like alot of actors he will i dare say only ever play those types of roles he has already done.

It would be interesting to see him in a serious role to see if he could pull it off!
