Alexikokopops Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Well - slow start, looked a bit out of place for fifteen minutes, spent another fifteen bedding down and finished the first half on a blinder. I thought he had a cracking second half. Now - can he do it more than once? Sums it up pretty well. Pleased thus far.
Koke Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Yeah, pretty decent start for the lad. I like how he left that Scunny defender dead on his arse in 2nd half.
Thracian Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Well, what an encouraging start. He sent his marker so far the wrong way once that he bumped into Trent Bridge and went down injured. He was my sort of player. He hugged the flank, stretched the defence, took defenders on and picked people out with his crosses. He varied his decision making and generally gave his markers nightmares. He should wear ear muffs next week and just deliver more of the same in future matches.
Daggers Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 I thought there was a serious chance someone would have to go off with whiplash if they kept on trying to keep up with his turning.

Flynny Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Sounds like he had a good game then. What are the odds he has two more average to poor games and then gets dropped for Hume or something?
brookfox Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 I don't think it's a coincidence that Howard had one of his better games for us with Bell playing. While he can be effective getting onto the long punt from the back, he does his real damage getting on the end of a whipped back cross, which Bell provided on a couple of occassions yesterday. The best debut for a winger I've seen since Lcazko (sp?) vs Cov. Hmmm!
Fox You Forest Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 Might have just been me but it looked like Stearman enjoyed playing with him too i thought those two performed well as a twosome yesterday.
Candidcamera Posted 30 March 2008 Posted 30 March 2008 He played under instructions to start with but saw the bigger picture and got better and better. He has intelligence like Fryatt. He could find Howard very easily. I liked the first impression.
