crisp monster Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 last season in the 1-1 draw at home Bell put in a couple of great crosses in the first couple of minutes that with a decent striker would have put them in front just before (that Spurs player on loan ) scored for us after about 5 minutes he put a few more good balls into the box after that and eventually supplied the cross for their equalizer. a decent signing imo
lildave3 Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Muzzy Izzet? They are skint! What about Muzzy Izzet? Surely you're not comparing Chelsea to Luton?

Joe. Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 If this Bell Guy Is so good then why is he in league 1And Why Are they Letting Him go Out On Loan With a view to a permanent move if He was anygood. If He was That Good He would be in the luton first team. You actually haven't got a clue have you? 1. He's in League One because Luton have rejected offers for him. 2. Because they are skint. 3. He was.
Kilworthfox Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 What about Muzzy Izzet?Surely you're not comparing Chelsea to Luton? the comparison is between div 3 and Chelsea reserves.
Flynny Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Sir Barry Hayles I've said this before, it's King, not Sir.
General Smuts Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I sign shit loads of players on football manager every time a transfer window rears its head but this is a bit much aint it! Hopefully we don't ruin him too much.
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 I expect him to be shit, not because he is shit, but because we make players shit. I am still impressed by David Bell, seen him play several times and he's a player. Yes you're right; every player we signs turns out to be shocking for us. then they'll go somewhere else and be successful
Candidcamera Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Apparently he was on high wages and a contract so they can't afford to scale their wages upwards. Always difficult for a small club. No way we will know what he's like until he plays.

HatterDan Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Guys, I am season ticket holder at Luton so thought i would give you my views. Bell was a superb player last season and would beat defenders for fun. This season he has been absolutely shocking. I think we were all hoping he would reproduce the sort of form that we had from him last year but it hasn't happened. He has had 2 good games this year and they were against Liverpool and Everton. The last 10-12 games he has been an absolute joke, he can't beat a player for toffee, he gets to the by line and instead of getting an early cross in he tries to do to much and looses it, even his corners are terrible. Its amazing that he was actually getting in our squad. Anyway i hope this move will sort him out, but from a Luton fans point of view i am glad to see him go so we can get someone who wants to win and with a bit of hunger in the team. Although i'm not sure who we will be booing from now on? Bell = Overrated = Oh Yes. You've signed a has-been.

HatterDan Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Your a season to late guys. If only we let him go in January for some cash.

Fox You Forest Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Sounds like he'll fit us like a glove. Atleast he will make up even teams next time they go Go-Karting.

If he can raise his game for bigger sides that he is playing week in week out then he obviously wants to play at a higher standard! Hang on something is so familiar about what i just wrote.....
HatterDan Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 The chap has talent. Just hasn't been using it or pulling his weight. Hopefully he will regain his confidence for you guys so you buy him off us. We don't want him back. His ego won't fit in our small ground.

Stevosevic Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Don't think this has been mentioned but he is our player next season. http://www.thebluearmy.co.uk/details.asp?b...6269754|p|536|0 New boy David Bell will become a fully-fledged Leicester City player in the summer. The 24-year-old midfielder arrived from Luton yesterday, initially on loan until the end of the season. He is set for his debut at some stage during today's home clash with S****horpe United. But a full transfer fee has already been agreed and City manager Ian Holloway is delighted not just with his capture but with a further show of support for his plans. He said: “The important thing is, he is our player unlike others who are here on loan. “He is part of the long-term future of the club which I have been discussing recently with the chairman and chief executive. “I could not have asked for more backing than I have received from them. The good thing is that he has come from a club lower than us and is, if you like, on his way up. “Some others have come to us in the opposite direction. No offence to them, but this lad is looking onwards and upwards with great ambition.” Bell becomes the fourth full signing after Steve Howard, Barry Hayles and Matt Oakley since Holloway took over and the hope is he will form an integral part of the side in due course. It was a whirlwind arrival for Bell, whose loan was held up through the Football League backlog on Thursday evening's transfer deadline. It was not completed until yesterday morning. That was too late for Bell to take part in training but he did hot-foot it up from Kenilworth Road. He said: “I was on the training pitch when Mick Harford pulled me over and told me to get myself over to Leicester because the deal had gone through. “Leicester are a massive club with a huge fan base and I am absolutely over the moon to have been given a chance to play for them. I just have to prove my ability now. “I grew up in Wellingborough so I know all about the club. “They have always been the biggest local club to me and I am thrilled to have been given the chance to play for them.” Bell hopes to conjure up pleasant memories of the Walkers Stadium if he gets some of the action today. He played in Luton's 1-1 draw here last season and said: “I remember that very well. I set up the equaliser and we came away with a point. That was a big result for us. “It's a magnificent stadium and I can't wait to get the chance to play there again.”
Daggers Posted 29 March 2008 Posted 29 March 2008 Well - slow start, looked a bit out of place for fifteen minutes, spent another fifteen bedding down and finished the first half on a blinder. I thought he had a cracking second half. Now - can he do it more than once?
