Matt Posted 28 March 2008 Author Posted 28 March 2008 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Lates...1275738,00.html Deadline Day Call For BellPosted on: Fri 28 Mar 2008 Leicester City have completed a last gasp transfer swoop for Luton Town midfielder David Bell. Bell, who hails from Kettering, joins the Foxes on loan until the end of the season. A backlog of paperwork at the Football League meant that the deal was not ratified until Friday morning, and the Club can confirm that the player is available for Saturday's clash against S****horpe. The 24-year-old was named Player of the Season at Kenilworth Road at the end of the 2006-07 campaign and has been in fine form for the Hatters again this term. Bell has made 40 appearances to date this season - scoring five goals. He has been capped for the Republic of Ireland at both U19 and U21 level. City boss Ian Holloway said: "He's a young, exciting player with a big future ahead of him. We've been watching his progress since he was at Rushden and I like him a lot. "He can play on either wing as well as in the middle of the park. He wiil add some much needed width to our squad. Luton have turned down a number of bids from other clubs for him and we are delighted to have him on board." Bell began his career at Rushden & Diamonds, where he made a total of 122 appearances before joining Luton Town in 2006 for £100,000.
Ric Flair Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Ha-ha!!! I am actually impressed, which I never thought i'd feel again this season. Good signing, very good signing IMO.
James. Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 F**k playing football. With the number of players we've got I reckon we should make a strategic move into invasions of small, insignificant countries. Wales will do for starters.
Ric Flair Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 They just can't help themselves can they. There's definite panic in the air, but David Bell is exactly the sort of player we should have been signing this season. We've wasted a lot of money on players that we thought would do the business because they've proven themselves at a higher level. Bell will probably fail like the rest of them, but he's a player i've wanted here for quite some time. Can't wait to hear Craig's opinion on him before the end of the day, he think's he's shit. There was someone who posted on here back in January when we were linked with him that they knew his girlfriend who is from Leics and that Bell really wanted to play for us. We need players with that sort of hunger.

Daggers Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 He'd better be worth the extra £11.75 he'll be costing each season ticket holder next season. Rushden & Diamonds, eh? Now which member of FoxesTalk used to be on their books... At least we are finding our level.
Ric Flair Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 You say that about every player we sign. It's better we all expect him to be sh*t. I expect him to be shit, not because he is shit, but because we make players shit. I am still impressed by David Bell, seen him play several times and he's a player.

Ric Flair Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I saw him for R&D and I can't say he knocked me off my feet. Since he moved to Luton he's been different class for them. Pretty sure he gave Nils-Eric a going over last season as well. Still not sure where he'll play though given we have Etuhu. I bet the Hungarians will be delighted by this latest piece of panic.

Darkzzz_ Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Good player as i said before, he is a young player, my brother was at diamonds with him and he shown all the signs at that age of how good he would become. I just hope he can show it for us!!
Ric Flair Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 I think they've been moved downstairs. They've gone the same way as Micky & Dan.
Mark Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Still not sure where he'll play though given we have Etuhu. I bet the Hungarians will be delighted by this latest piece of panic. Etuhu doesn't look arsed to me. Bell Oakley Clemence/Weso Hendrie it'll be.
Bryn Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 The Hungarians have been well and truly sacked off I think. They were only on trial (in the form of a loan deal before anyone says) anyway. He's quite a promising player who has done well for Luton these last two seasons. Whether we need him is yet to be seen and whether we will just destroy him anyway will soon be found out.
Daggers Posted 28 March 2008 Posted 28 March 2008 Pretty sure he gave Nils-Eric a going over last season as well. No one got the better of Nils. Ever. Nils walked on water, cured poverty and could make a mean Baked Alaska.
