Moreton Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Right here's how I look at it.It's definitely two points dropped. But it could have been worse. I think this extra one point could prove crucial in the final league standings. So it's not all bad. And we weren't good at all today. Poor service and poor finishing cost us a win that we really should have got Spot on mate. The deliveries today were shocking.
colbo68 Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 To me that was a vital point, were now out of the rele-zone on goal difference, and Holloway made the sub to bring on the scorer in Hume. You cant win round here these days, your super sub comes on and scores a goal and you still get ridiculed. I am still optimistic, we have sheff wed and barnsley next two games, if we beat them then we wont go down. Alot relies on mondays game admitted, but i truly beleive plymouth will do one over sheff wed. To me that was a vital point, - A VITAL POINT!!! - at home to a side already relegated - and we had a struggle to get that!! that should have been a comfortable home win against a very poor side not a last ditched equaliser to stay up!!! I'm fuming....................
FilboFox Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 They should have been yeah, but they had no real chances, when we do get them we have to take the chances. There were some chances though but the crosses or passes right at the end were so poor that the attacking move disintegrated... Its a shame and I can only hope that we manage to win the next couple of games and save ourselves as if we go down, I can see us disappearing into the footballing abyss...
AoWW Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Well I thought it was pretty good in E1... I think you've missed the point but I really wouldn't worry about it.

I'm fuming.................... tbf, a down and out team often plays better and battles to prove a point, they shoved 11 men behind the ball for 99% of that game. They had nothing to lose it was almost like a cup match for them. Was always going to be a harder game then people expect. oh look bottom of the table and already relegated, its not like they have been dire all season, and that they were miles off the quality of the rest of this league. Everyone can beat anyone in this league, there is no gulf in class. Its a point gained, and we now have to win the remaining three (debatably) but i thin kwe dca still do it. if sheff wed lose on monday, which i think they will. We are still safe atm newbie. so lets keep it together and remain calm. Its not over till the pundits make it official. lets see some belief round here for once.
lookwhaticando Posted 12 April 2008 Author Posted 12 April 2008 WTF is this all about? He actually said FAB! Maybe I'm the only person amused by it, but that's ok.
FilboFox Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I think you've missed the point but I really wouldn't worry about it. Yeah I did... didn't understand what it was all about at all...
reynard Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 We should have won easily but yet again our strikers let us down. Fryatt one on one wth the keeper and failed to shoot. DJ one on one with the keeper but as uaual failed to score. Howard worst I've seen him pla. Awful from his very first touch. Hayles useless down the middle but ok wide left. Hume The only one who looks like he can score and our pratt of a manager fails to see this. At 88 mins our season looked over but at 93 we have at least given ourselves a slim chance and are within a point of cov and 2 of Blackpool. It looks bleak but we can still do it. Whatever happens Holloway has to go at the end of the season. Probably the worst manager ever to manage our club.

I've been a city fan nie-on thirty years!!! - your belief is false and unfounded and its twats like you that have put this club in this precarious position - keep the faith eh?!!! hehehehehehehehe

Head Honcho Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Bullshit. It was over 20 mins ago. We're not good enough to stay up - fact. Sheff Wed, Coventry, Soton and Blackpool are still just as vunerable as us. Stop reacting to one game ffs there are three games to play and realistically one team out of five left for the chop, currently we have the points in the bag and even if Sheff Wed get a result in midweek they have to play two of the five. It ain't over til it's over. Now that is a fact!
Ron Combo Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Plymouth will lose on Monday, just to shove one up Holloway, mark my words. You read it here first.

Nah... they're still going for the play-offs aren't they? Surely they'll be dead set on winning although they may underestimate Sheff Wed and lose...

We've still got to plaay Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday, it's those two games that are the big ones. Take three points of those two games and in my opinion we may just be safe. Don't give up yet, there's still nine points to play for.
Kilworthfox Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Nah... they're still going for the play-offs aren't they?Surely they'll be dead set on winning although they may underestimate Sheff Wed and lose... Yeah they have to win as much as Sheff Wed do
Simi Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I really did not want to come on here tonight and post, but I couldn't find any other way to get rid of the frustration I've managed to build up during that match. I've been attempting to make myself a positive person during this relegation battle, yet after watching that I'm starting to find it really hard. Today, after the match was one of my lowest points as a Leicester fan. After the game I sat on the back row with Bert and I bet we were both thinking the same thing, "What the **** is going on at this football club?". In the first half, Colchester were absolutely terrible. They were there for the taking. We should be ashamed of ourselves that we didn't manage to score in that period. It was painfully obvious where the game was heading if we didn't take our chances and didn't that just happen! So many loose passes with no commitment in them or conviction. It sickens me that they'll come out with yet again the same stuff in the media this week. How can they say we can encourage them onto victory when they fail to make simple five yard passes to a team mate. It's basic, painful not to see it happen as well. As time went on in the second half, Colchester grew in confidence and we continued to lack it. When that's the case, there's only one outcome in this league at the moment. Our build up play was amateur and far to predictable. Long ball to Howard. Lose possession. Get the ball back. Ball out wide shit cross. Repeat until the cows come home. Hendrie and Oakley had no authority on the game or the ball. Hardly ever linked up well with the centre halves or the strikers which led to an extremely scrappy game. When Colchester scored, I expected us to bounce back immediately and I actually thought they'd crumble. Yet instead, we stuck to the same game-plan that they had contained all match. The nervousness was reflected from the stands onto the pitch. I have sympathy with the guy who ran on the pitch and threatened to throw his season ticket, even though he bottled throwing it. When your team is producing stuff like that on the pitch, it's to hard to contain sometimes. Fryatt and DJ collectively missed cat iron sitters. Fryatt's probably more unforgivable given the time he had to shoot but decided he wanted to wait for the perfect opening. Story of him this season to be honest. Hume gave us a bit of energy but our retention of the ball was poor and it allowed Colchester to keep the ball for longer than we would of liked and calmed the game down when we threatened to take the authority. I've read, also spoken to people that have said that this is a good point. For a team that were as poor as that in the first half, I find that very hard to swallow and agree with. These are bottom of the division, if the players and the manager wanted it as much as we did, we'd of won today. When it comes to games like today, quality goes out the window. Commitment, a level head and the desire to win a football match comes into play. Not nearly enough of our players showed that today which I find unacceptable. We're not down yet, I'll be there at Barnsley. But today was an awful day for this club.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 He actually said FAB!Maybe I'm the only person amused by it, but that's ok. I get it. It's brilliant. Luckily for us a lot of teams around us that were in winning positions either lost or drew today. That table could look a whole lot worse.

Guest Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 You speak wise words, young Chedley. I really can't fathom out what's going on, but I know that there will be tears spilt before the season ends.
Maybes Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 Where are the fryatt lovechilds today, after his glaring miss? I am so disappointed with this current leicester city side. They do not deserve us loyal fans turning up week in week out giving their backing. The same thing will come out in the media from Ollie, " Its now a 3 game mini season!?" Hes been talking about this mini season for the last 3 weeks.
breadandcheese Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I apologise to all those who wanted rid of Holloway weeks ago. This game was must win and that was a shambles. If I could see what he was trying to do, I would still back him but our team selection is so random and lacking in gameplan. Mistakes today- - Hayles on the left wing? It hasn't worked all season, why will it today when the pressure is really on. Should have played Hendrie left, with Weso in the centre. Hendrie may be a better centre-mid but at least we'd have a more effective midfield unit. - Hume on the bench? He's our top scorer, FFS. Whether the rumours are true that Holloway and Hume don't see eye-to-eye, Hume should be the automatic first-choice upfront. - How long do we need to wait for Holloway to see that it isn't working and a change is needed? Took far too long to make a change today. If I could see what changes Holloway is looking to make to take the team forward, I would give him time. Sadly, we're now in the state that a sacking could be counter-productive. In truth, I cannot see Holloway getting us the necessary points so I would throw the dice one more time, caretaker manager, whatever, just to try and shake it up. Our only hope right now is Blackpool continuing their slump. I think Wednesday will survive with ease and can see them winning their next two games on the bounce, which leaves us fighting it out with Blackpool and Coventry.
lildave3 Posted 12 April 2008 Posted 12 April 2008 I'd be so ****ing glad if Fryatt never played for us again, so glad. He's right footed, why try and cut inside?! Damn fool. Aside from that, I don't quite know what to say right now, I really don't.
