mat_j101 Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I just wanted to post showing appreciation for anyone who went yesterday, it sounded like the crowd were fantastic, and 6,000 is a great turnout. I would have been there myself, but had far far too much work in on Monday, so it was with much regret i had to pass. So well done everyone - we are staying up, say we are staying up.
Kilworthfox Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 That is the kind of spirit that we needed all season! That IMO is how Bristol city have played all year, being first to everything and in everything they did they did it with immense desire. I believe that we have a very good side for this division but the desire and the winning mentality has been missing alot this season. I posted yesterday about not wanting to hear this "we will do it for the fans" tripe again, Yesterday after the goal went in they did it big time and I have not seen that from Leicester this season and I was delighted with Hayles, Bell, Kisnorbo, Oakley, Howard, even Hendo as they won everything and out desired Barnsley to the ball, that is why we did not concede after we scored........ we deserved it.

I noticed that as well. I think that's one of the reason we've dropped so many points this season. Whenever we've scored, our performance has dropped and we've lost the drive. But yesterday, we kept the same hunger as soon as we'd scored and our performance didn't drop. We retained our composure and even looked to score a second. We've been missing it this season, I hope we can now keep it up.
Rednotdead Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 A Barnsley view if you want it. The first half was truly appalling. No football or skill was shown by either side other than Martin Devaney's rocket that hit the post. Second half was much improved footballing wise and we hit the post again. Then Leicester scored with what I think was their only chance of the game and Barnsley ran out of ideas and didnt really look like scoring after that other than a clear cut penalty when one of your defenders dragged Odejayi back in the box with both hands pulling on his shirt. If you went to the game that was why the home fans started to sing the referee's a w@nker. Two truly appalling displays yesterday but 3 points at this time of the season is all that matters. Hope this doesnt sound like sour grapes, its my honest oppinion. I thought that the ref was terrible. Missing the penalty and then two minutes later brian howard palms the ball on and he points to his chest and says play on. Poor Odejayi kept being mugged and the ref gave the decisions against us. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I dont know whether to wish you look at home to wednesday. This league is such a mess I dont know who we need to win anymore. I just hope that after a week's rest we can get a result against Charlton. so i wont wish leicester luck but I will wish your fans luck in coping with the stress of this relegation battle. Hope we both meet in the championship next year. ps I reckon their were 4000 - 4500 Leicester fans there yesterday. The stand holds 6000 and it was not nearly full
lavrentis Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 We needed to stay on our feet, be strong and be first to the ball yesterday after the scored because I was thinking it's going to be the same old story. But we stayed strong and dug out a win!
Guest Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 More like 4,200 but you are right I couldn't believe when the 'scoreboard' flashed up that the total attendance was 14,000 odd.... and we took 4,000 of that!!
Daggers Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 and what is the chant in the background, sounds like 'de-fence, de-fence...' L. C. F. C.
Daggers Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Kilworth Top Tip # 04 There are two buttons - one adds a reply to a previous thread while the other starts an entirely new thread on an identical issue.
Raj Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 L. C. F. C. I was singing Emile Heskey! Oh well!!! Great day out. Great result and i actually enjoyed the game at times too!!! Great atmosphere! Great stewarding(Or lack of!) Thats what its all about! Barnsley fans were a good bunch! Same again next Saturday!!!
Daggers Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Same again next Saturday!!! No. Don't go there again next Saturday Raj, you'll find it an altogether different experience.
Geo V Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Well done the lads and all that went along to support. Im not bothered about player ratings or how we played just that we won and now there are two clubs in a worse possie than us and other clubs around us have been dragged into it including Barnsley. Its been a horror season for many reasons but lets just hope we can beat Wednesday and stay up and start all over again next season.
Raj Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 No. Don't go there again next Saturday Raj, you'll find it an altogether different experience. I meant the atmosphere at The Walkers to be the same as yday you pisshead!!!!
Simi Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 I've got quite a large bruise on my leg from celebrating the goal, absolutely crazy up at the back. Credit to all the fans yesterday, did the club proud and helped to swallow the ball down our end in the second half. When we got into the concourse it was great, bouncing around for about 30 minutes. 1 man went to burn...

Daggers Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Apologies to those in the pub, I popped out to find a pie or something and got lost. I was meant to be returning...
yorksfox Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Great support (4,200 about right). Weslowski was immense in the middle, now if he played every week and kept free of injury we'd never be anywhere near the bottom! Oakley and Howard unimpressive, Hayles excellent....and once again Henderson as good as any of the other 5 or 6 keepers we've tried over the last 2 years.

For your first post that more or less sums it up! Weso was very impressive. HOward was shite! BUT no negativity this week. They all did well!....(except Howard! )
Tilley Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 What a result yesterday. Absolutely fantastic. David Bell was brilliant again, very creative and always wants to run at people. Patrick Kisnorbo was solid at the back but I did think his ball distribution at times was a little poor. Stearman was great yet again, very passionate. Huuuuuuuumme made the difference with his goal, thats what you get when you play him up front & maybe he has just scored two of the most important goals of his Leicester career in the last two matches. Barry Hayles. Superb. I don't want to put a downer on the day but the two ex-Derby boys, Oakley & Howard, not performing again. Howard in particular. Not impressed. Fans were fantastic, goal celebrations were wicked. I had one bloke in a green jacket longish hair sort fo superman on top of me and my mate when we scored, he was holding a Leicester scarf (sort of Anfield kop style) at the end, was wondering if he was on theses boards. Amazing support again. Brilliant day, brilliant result. Now lets get those BACK TO BACK WINS! & Relegate Sheff Wed. Well done boys.
robbieLOVESthealmightylcfc Posted 20 April 2008 Posted 20 April 2008 Sounded as if luck was on our side for once today.3 points in the bag and a step closer to safety. Nice. Anything but a loss at Wednesday next week and I think we're sorted. not at all if we draw with wednesday they will be still be 2 points behind us and then all that needs to happen is they beat norwich on the last day and we lose to stoke and were gone.
