They just got electricity

It's quite impressive really - electricity and the internet in one day. I wonder what they'll discover next? Contraception?

Just heard that Mansfield may be wearing black at the final game of their season as they are down so maybe that is something we can do to show how we feel.

Maybe all you that are going could wear the City shirts and scarfs and stuff but come the final whistle, if we find out that Southampton have done it and we haven't, then you could take off your shirts and reveal a black one and make a black corner in the Stoke away section... that'd really sum up our dramatic failures and demise... if we go down... IF.

I'm still hopeful that we can survive! COME ON LEICESTER!!! :scarf:

Championship - Pulis rubbishes Mandaric rift talk

Eurosport - Thu, 01 May 12:15:00 2008

Stoke manager Tony Pulis insists his side's final-day showdown against Leicester is not a grudge match with Foxes owner Milan Mandaric.

Back in October 2000 during Mandaric's reign at Portsmouth, the Serbian-born American sacked Pulis after just 10 months at the Fratton Park helm.

Now Pulis' Stoke side could send Leicester and Mandaric into the third tier for the first time in their history on Sunday while securing their own place in the Premier League, but Pulis insists he is not out for revenge and that there are no hard feelings.

"Although me and Milan had our spat a while back, it was a long time ago and there is certainly no animosity between us now," Pulis told The Sentinel.

"I have spoken to Milan plenty of times since and I will be the first upstairs after the game to have a drink with him - whatever the result.

"He was even been gracious enough to ring me before our game at Leicester earlier this season to invite my wife into the boardroom to have dinner before the match. That surely shows there are no grudges between us.

"Milan and [Leicester manager] Ian [Holloway] will know we are as desperate for the result as they are and once the whistle goes, we will be in our two corners fighting for the three points. But before and after the game we will be friends."

I do think you have a chance of getting a draw but it may not be enough. I think Southampton will beat Sheff United at home. To be realistic, Stoke should thump you 3-0 but you do seem to play well against the odds now and again. You had good results against Villa, Forest, Watford and the mighty Cov this season so there is still hope.

All the best in Div Three next season......it won't be that bad. Dowie is alright......he will do a good job.

It will be even sweeter when we pass you on the way back up ;)

Sheffield United will do their bit and draw 1-1.

We'll be 1-0 behind and in the 94th minute up comes. none other than Lee Hendrie and levels for us. So a Sheffield United player virtually saves us from relegation.

****... its just suddenly hit me... we really COULD go down! I mean, I knew we could before but I just started thinking about it properly and looking at the tables of various leagues and we could be playing 3rd tier football next season for the first time...

What really upset me when thinking about it is that teams like Swansea (definitely), Doncaster, Carlisle, Southend, Leeds or Nottingham Forrest could be above us next year! Its really upsetting when we started this year with hopes of reaching the Premiership...

All I can say is that I hope that these Leicester players play their hearts out on Sunday and just go for it knowing that its quite possibly win or bust for us and this club. If we stay up, I think that we will improve and start the steady climb back up the tables, BUT, I really feel that if we go down, we could just fall away into obscurity... and that is what worries me more than anything...

:scarf: COME ON LEICESTER!!! PLEEEEEAAAAASE!!!! :scarf::cry:

I'm just thinking the same, i can't believe we could be going down. I have a feeling that one of our strikers will miss a great chance to keep us up in the last few minutes of the game and it will sum up our season, i really hope not though, i keep thinking about it! Its not good

For starters we aint going down.

And such negative thoughts should not be allowed.

Secondly IF( ) we DO go down, then we have to show the siege mentality that them Northern scummers Leeds have shown this campaign.

I know Leeds think the FA fcuked them up and wanted to fight the world etc... but the players at LCFC must want to regain some pride if they do get us relegated.

Many will HAVE to stay here as no one would want them and they cant all be paid off by MM,so we may be lumbered with em.

SIEGE MENTALITY is what is required next season.

And i DO realise it aint gonna be a walk in the park in LG1 if we do go down but we have to take example from the likes of Man C who slumped to LG1 and returned better for it!

I've been feeling that way for weeks, ever since we drew against Colchester. It was reinforced when we lost to Sheff Weds.

To be honest, I'm just looking forward to 4pm on Sunday, regardless of the result. The past few weeks have been horrible and I just want this nagging fear and uncertainty, that's constantly been interrupting my thoughts, out of my head.

From BBC Sport website:

Holloway and Stoke boss Tony Pulis are firm friends who met while on the playing staff at Bristol Rovers.

Holloway is Godfather to Pulis's son Anthony, but sentiment will count for nothing on Sunday.

"Once the whistle goes, we will be in our two corners fighting for the three points," said Pulis. "But before and after the game, we will be friends."

It is possible that both managers could end the day happy as a draw could be enough for both teams.

It will certainly guarantee promotion for Stoke, while a point could be enough for Leicester to stay up if Southampton lose to Sheffield United.

I'd put my money on it being a draw, atleast at half time, yes Stoke want the championship, but they want to make sure they go up even more. I don't believe it'll be a fix, both teams will play defensively, there won't be many chances. I think if results are going the right way for both teams 10-20 minutes from the end it might open up.

We'll draw leaving Southampton and Wednesday to get results. I don't think both of them will.

I must admit that sitting on a sun lounger with an ice cold beer looking out over the Mediterranean makes all this relegation business seem VERY far away...:P

The regular Championship season comes to an end on Sunday on what promises to be a day of high drama.

Promotion, play-offs and relegation - issues have yet to be decided at both ends of the table.

Of the 24 teams in the Championship, 14 still have something to play for.

All 12 fixtures kick-off at 1400 BST - and an agonising, nail-biting 90 minutes lie in store for thousands of supporters.

AT STAKE ON SUNDAY

Let's start with promotion.

It will take something truly extraordinary to prevent leaders West Brom from sealing their return to the top flight after a two-year absence.

Tony Mowbray's team would have to lose and third place Hull City defeat Ipswich by 13 clear goals, combined with Stoke taking a point or more off Leicester, to prevent the Baggies from going up automatically.

Stoke City, meanwhile, will end their 23-year top-flight absence with a draw against Leicester, while Hull will snatch second if they defeat Ipswich and the Potters lose.

Stoke or Hull will compete in the play-offs if they fail to seal automatic promotion. Bristol City are also guaranteed a play-off place, while Watford, Crystal Palace, Wolves, Ipswich and Sheffield United could all make the top six.

Down at the bottom there is an almighty dogfight to avoid the third and final relegation place.

Colchester and S****horpe have already been relegated but five teams are in danger of joining them.

Southampton are currently in 22nd spot, but just two points separate them and Leicester, Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry and Blackpool.

Of these five teams only Blackpool, promoted from League One last season, have not played Premier League football.

MATCH OF THE DAY - STOKE v LEICESTER

Sunday's sell-out at the Britannia Stadium has become the biggest fixture of the Championship season.

This match pits a team on the cusp of the Premier League against a club in grave danger of slipping into the third tier of English football for the first time in their history.

Stoke have never been in the Premier League but are on the verge of reaching the top flight after holding their form over recent weeks, winning their last three games.

The Potters defeated Colchester on Saturday and, at one point, were five minutes from promotion before Hull grabbed a late winner against Crystal Palace.

The only goal at Colchester came from Richard Cresswell, a striker who once played Premier League football at Leicester.

"Fingers crossed we can do the job," said Cresswell of the fixture against his former club.

"It's going to be a massive game, a full house and both teams will be fighting for a win."

The match is being described in Leicester as the biggest in the club's history.

With the looming prospect of the Foxes hosting League One football in their 32,500 capacity Walkers Stadium you can see why.

Leicester lost 3-1 at home to relegation rivals Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday. Victory would have guaranteed safety.

Afterwards manager Ian Holloway kept his players in the dressing room for an hour before emerging to describe the result as the worst of his career.

Holloway, the club's sixth manager since Milan Mandaric took over as chairman in February 2007, must ensure his players do not dwell on defeat to the Owls.

"There will be loads of Stoke fans ready for a party - they need a point for promotion, but I'm sure they will be going for all three," he wrote in his weekly column for BBC Sport.

"So we have to upset their party, if we get a win it almost guarantees we stay up. I know that looks a tall order, but it's fact.

"It is not over until it is over, and it ain't over yet."
