clazkel Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 1,600 to be precise. I think someone said they'd email the Ticket Office about the possibility of a beam back and they said they were looking into it. Personally, I think it'll be on Sky. Yeah i went into the ticket office today to enquire about Stoke allocation and asked if the game will be on at the ground and the guy serving said he had just been discussing it with another member of staff and he will put the word about, so hopefully it will be
C-man Posted 27 April 2008 Posted 27 April 2008 This'll provide the club with the perfect scapegoat for the ticket fiasco. What about this for a conspiracy. City don't take a massive allocation because all gate receipts go to the home side. Thinking that the game is almost certain to be on Sky, they'll get a Beam-back on at the Walkers, and sell tickets for it. Thousands of fans would pay a fiver to watch it among other fans at the Walkers I presume. If that happens, the club makes the profit from the beam-back and the fee from Sky for televising their match? Feasible-ish.

Goddard Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Hey, I'm just in Australia at the minute and I've been keeping a close eye on the depressing relegation battle. Football is hard to get over here with the time difference, but if you try hard enugh you can find it. I'm going to be in a place called Airlie Beach on Sunday and I'm wondering if you know if the Leicester match is going to be the featured game on Sky? If so I've got to get ringing around the bars now to try and find somewhere that'll be showing it. Cheers
C-man Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Only if they lost to Sheff Weds on purpose - Feasible-ish. Not really, because they would have most likely shown Stoke's promotion on Sky whether or not we stay up. Besides, Stoke had a beamback of their Colchester game and that wasn't on Sky!
Nationwider Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Is beamback really a word? I think they mean bean bag.
Fat Ron Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 So is the game on TV then? Knowing our luck they will decide to show Scunny V Colchester?!?!
SamL Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 So is the game on TV then? Knowing our luck they will decide to show Scunny V Colchester?!?! No confirmation yet.
davieG Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 They're probably awaiting the result of tonight's game if WBA win then they are promoted, if they lose they could be pipped Stoke and Hull therefore their game against QPR becomes important. Southampton winning would dump us in it but would also drag Cov and Blackpool back into the equation.
Vardinhio Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Dear Michael We will not be having a beam back at the walkers we do not know if the game will be on the television Regards Kim Ticket Office
Dr The Singh Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 Dear Michael We will not be having a beam back at the walkers we do not know if the game will be on the television Regards Kim Ticket Office Well, Micheal we must know hope Sky decides to show the game!!!
Mike the Metal Ed Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 They've advertised they're showing two - interactive allowing you to choose which one. According to the Sky information button they're showing one Championship match and the interactive is to let you watch Hampshire v Gloucestershire in the Friends Provident Trophy.

The Blue Fox of Kibworth Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 With such an important game at Stoke and only 1800 fans able to attend fon city surely the answer would be to show the game on a beam back at the walkers. I understand hull city are doing one for there last game away at Ipswich.Maybe our game at stoke is live on sky or maybe our club just cant be bothered. Hull can show a live crucial game like this as they are seeking promotion. Apparently, from a reliable source, City are loath to show this game on beam back as the horror of going down to the third tier for the first time could result in some ugly scenes and the club will not find it these as easy to control as if in the stands with loads of stewards and plods in riot gear. Someone else said that it was due to Health & safety and insurance !!.
Uncle Albert Posted 28 April 2008 Posted 28 April 2008 The Walkers cannot do anything properly can they. Lack of tickets and now no big screen. Not that this affects me but for all you other minions...
