teblin Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Leicester will replace manager Ian Holloway with Iain Dowie at the end of the season if they are relegated from the Championship. (Various)
Finchy Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Would he really come to a league 1 club? If we do go down and he does come i think he will be a great manager.
Ozwin Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 As much as I'd not want him here he's probably the best we could get.
Fat Ron Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I hate to say it, I like Ollie but Im losing faith in him.
purpleronnie Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Its what I stated might happen a few weeks ago, MM has always wanted Dowie so it wouldn't surprise me. Dowies out of work even if we were in Legaue 1 he'll be paid very well, and unless a top championship team or Premiership team comes in for him I think Dowie will be our manager next season. Another ugly ****er!
Corky Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 What is Milan's obsession with Dowie? It is quite worrying
lookwhaticando Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 What is the papers' obsession with linking Dowie to Mandaric in every way (apart from romantically)? It is quite worrying
Tubes Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 No i don't want too. He aint that bad. Hidden talents.
FilboFox Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I hate to say it, I like Ollie but Im losing faith in him. That about sums up my views on Holloway... I do like him and I hope we stay up and he stays until next year to be given a full summer to sort it out... BUT, I am starting to question him a little and am losing faith in the team and him... Not enough to want him to go yet. If we get relegated, then I guess we should probably sack him but once again, it would then mean that the entire club would need to get used to ANOTHER manager ahead of a season which could be severely detrimental to hopes of going back up so we might be better off keeping him then too. If we stay up, which I'm hoping, I think that we need to give him the summer to see what he can do and then judge him on the first 10 or so games of next season and if nothing has improved, then sack him and I'll back that decision if I think he's not been good enough then. I just can't see how bringing in another manager will help as the players would have to get used to another manager and his ways which will disrupt the summer which we need to re-group properly ahead of next year... in the Championship!
Head Honcho Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Would he really come to a league 1 club?If we do go down and he does come i think he will be a great manager. Wasn't so great at Cov! Why do you think he'd be any better here?
Zingari Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 just a gut feeling and nothing concrete to back it up , but i think Dowie would be the right choice for Leicester there has always seemed to be a bad relationship between ollie and MM , but i think him and ID would be different MM seems to respect ID and I don't think he ever did respect ollie from day one . its as though he knew he had made a bad mistake with ollie at the very 1st press conference i dont want MM raiding another club for a manager , there is good enough talent waiting in the wings

Zingari Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Has there? didn't you see the press conference ,when ollie started arguing in front of the cameras with MM it looked quite minor but clearly MM looked really uncomfortable to be spoken to in that manner
MikeyT Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 didn't you see the press conference ,when ollie started arguing in front of the cameras with MM it looked quite minor but clearly MM looked really uncomfortable to be spoken to in that manner Shit, i must have missed that!
Finchy Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Wasn't so great at Cov! Why do you think he'd be any better here? I said IF we go down . But also he didn't get a lot of money at Cov, he will here.
Phlashman Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Surely the rumor should be if we don't go down we'll get dowie? With Dowie we're sure to go down next season he set Charlton down in just 12 games, shame he didn't have the time at Cov to send them down too. Here's a plan, lets actually give a manager a chance!

Yes, because we didnt give Holloway a chance did we?
Number 6 Posted 30 April 2008 Posted 30 April 2008 Really don't rate Dowie, anyone who read the article about him taking his Charlton (I think) team out running the morning before a match and getting them lost will know this guy is an idiot. I hope we get the result we need on Sunday and give Ollie a summer at it, I think Manderic needs to have a sit down with him, tell him he wants to cut out all the crap, stop mouthing off to the press, stop worrying about what people think of you, sort this club out, a top half finish and build from there.

I reckon every single poster on here would take the chance Holloway has been given were it offered, together with the financial backing, terrific support and a chance to play the transfer window.
