Finn Claw Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 wow he really does sound gutted, obviously if i'd pissed 11 million on a shower of shit then i'd be gutted to. Dark dark days
grah711 Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 mr mandaric should stay and sort out the mess he has contributed towards, he sounds very emotional towards the end, i think hes a genuine man who cares but who has made mistakes, the club needs continuity, he either sticks with ollie or gets someone new in who he can keep for many years, the constant manager and player changes have contributed greatly to our downfall onwards and upwards as one
Linekaaaah Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Christ, he was crying. Actually I agree. Difficult to see how he wouldn't be emotional about this, but even so, he's failed on so many counts it's up to him to stick around next season and clean up the mess he helped create. He can start by sacking Ollie asap! Incidentally, do I get a prize for being the 1,000,000th person to say that?
fsdss Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I'd cry if I'd lost £10 million as well, would you? He will have only lost that money if he leaves the Club. He knows that if City start winning he will get the same gate money as this year. He can get rid of all the loan players and half of the squad cutting the wages and still won`t lose any quality in the team. (We had very little) He can then either cash in or keep the one or two players that any other team may want. (Hume, Hume and Hume...) A new manager will want to bring in new players so he will need some cash for that but we are not talking DJ Campbell prices are we!! This is an opportunity to rebuild our Club and MM can do that now if he has the heart for it. If he seeks fame then he will get loads if he can get us challenging next year. Ken Bates is always in the headlines!!
Durnerz Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I'd cry if I'd lost £10 million as well, would you? I cry if I lose £10!

Kilworthfox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/default.stmNo official article on it yet but look near the top on the 'more soon' ticker. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Father Ted Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/default.stmNo official article on it yet but look near the top on the 'more soon' ticker. Interesting. If he leaves, which he might, we will go into administration.
The Stig Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 He's off. He'll hardly consider leaving then stay. Is a ten point deduction for admin possible? What would our financial state be like if he left?
fsdss Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I cry if I lose £10! I lost £500 for the last 5 years on season tickets!!
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 This is just what we need, isn't it? If he does go, I'm sure he wouldn't want us to go into administration, so he may have a plan to leave with us avoiding administration. Don't know though, I'm clutching at straws really.
l444ry Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I'm no financial expert but if he can walk away as easily as that it would show he put very little money into the club in the first place.
Simi Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Nothing new, he said this in the SSN interview, just the BBC finally getting hold of it. I can see Mandaric staying on as owner and Aldridge becoming chairman.
Legend_in_blue Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I lost £500 for the last 5 years on season tickets!! ...and a total outlay of £2500. Feels good don't it? At the moment I am extremely disappointed with MM. There's no point feeling sorry for yourself Mandaric, you need to buckle up, stand firm and come out with fighting talk. You should have had some sort of backup plan ready to go, now that the worst has happened. Instead of that, you've got 32 000 very annoyed, angry, numb, upset, shocked etc etc Leicester City fans that give you and the club "their undivided loyalty and tremendous support" and then the best you can come out with is "I'm not sure what I am going to do next season, I can't tell you whether I'll be chairman or not". Well. Thanks a lot. Why not keep us in a state of limbo for even longer? It's not as if going down has made things any worse has it? I'm not happy. At a time like this, it needs somebody with a real sense of direction, someone who can take the club by the balls, shake it up and tell us exactly what it plans to do. Sort it out.
The Stig Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Mandaric - I feel let down Leicester chairman furious following relegation From Sky Sports. Mandaric: Sorry for fans Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has admitted he will need a couple of days to 'calm down' before deciding on his own future and that of manager Ian Holloway. The Foxes were relegated from the Championship following a goalless draw with Stoke on the final day of the season. Mandaric has vented his anger and spoken of the heartache he felt when Leicester's demise was sealed. "It is not an easy moment. It is one I have never experienced before in any project, whether business or football," Mandaric, speaking from the United States, told Sky Sports News. Dreadful "It is a dreadful experience. It is a shame. I feel let down and right now I am not a very happy man. "You don't have to be Einstein. If you look at the support I have given to my managers and my players, both financially and morally, and what do you get in response? "You expect rewards and results. We didn't get it and you have to feel let down." Asked about Holloway's future, Mandaric replied: "I cannot discuss that. I need a couple of days of calming down. "We need to come up with the right strategy. We owe it to the supporters to turn this around and find some positives in this dreadful time." Mandaric also conceded that he was not sure whether he would be staying on as chairman. He said: "I don't know. I am not going to make any decisions at this moment. We have to face the facts and regroup." Mandaric did defend himself when questioned why he was in America on such a crucial day of the season. Sorry "I have seen 45 games," he explained. "This was a very important family meeting that was scheduled three months ago, when I never dreamed we would be in this situation." Speaking directly to the fans, Mandaric added: "I think only one word can describe everything - sorry. We have let you down and we didn't expect to let you down. "I put a lot of money where my mouth was but unfortunately it didn't work out this year. "We all go down sometimes and I always say the loser is the one that that doesn't get back up, not the one that goes down. "So we are going to get back up and I hope we get their help and forgiveness for what we have done wrong. We must look forward and put Leicester back in a position where we need to be."
Father Ted Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 He's off. He'll hardly consider leaving then stay. Is a ten point deduction for admin possible? What would our financial state be like if he left? We would be in deep s*it. If he was to leave, I reckon a week after, there could be no Leicester City.
Father Ted Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I'm no financial expert but if he can walk away as easily as that it would show he put very little money into the club in the first place. Well, I've heard that Mandaric hasn't actually paid the '£25million' to the shareholders, but will only pay them 33% if we get to the Premiership, a further 33% if we stay there and the final 33%/34% if we stay there beyond that. All that Mandaric has done is stabilise the club financially - basically covering the debts and so on but has very much got the club for nothing.
breadandcheese Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Call me cynical but I'm tempted to go along the lines that this is a Mandaric PR move. Build up the tension, headlines about possibly leaving. A few days later, headlines in the Mercury proclaiming he's going to do it for the fans, we're going to get Leicester back, Milan the hero.
sdb Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 if he goes then we really are screwed. come on MM sometimes you've gotta go backwards before you start going forwards!!
davieG Posted 5 May 2008 Author Posted 5 May 2008 Well, I've heard that Mandaric hasn't actually paid the '£25million' to the shareholders, but will only pay them 33% if we get to the Premiership, a further 33% if we stay there and the final 33%/34% if we stay there beyond that. For heavens sake there never was £25 million that was just blanderson talk, Read this and the next few posts to see the REAL details of the deal. http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...st&p=535381 You'll see it was FA even if we did get promoted.
Kilworthfox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Come back Martin George. What about Tom Shipman? Also We could bring back Mickey Adams, Brian Little, Martin O'Neill David Pleat, and Gordon Lee!
Chairman of the Bored Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Gordon Lee. Great man. Watched the re-run of the Oxford last match of the season escape vid before the Stoke game. He got the team playing when Pleat was sacked, but he did have Walshy, Jamo, Rooster, Ali Mauchlen and Rambo with for bit of backbone in the team. That's what we missed this season, some bloody backbone.
