Mandaric interviews

Mandaric won't be going anywhere, yes he's made some big mistakes (listening to agents and employing a nutjob), but his personal side of the bargain this year was backing and support for his management and players, which he has delivered on - likely through debt and some of his own money, but backing nontheless. He's not broken his word on anything he has personal control over yet, and he has said he won't leave us worse off than when he came. He's also bought in an experienced CEO who knows what he's doing in Paul Aldridge. I can see Aldridge doing a far more high profile job next season, and Milan attending far less than 45 games. One thing for sure, if my boss didn't call me after the most important 90 mins in my career I'd be looking at Situations Vacant in the morning. Now we just need to sit tight for a few days, let Milan and Aldridge get round a table and then watch a proper purge of our club begin. It's such a shame it had to come to relegation for this to actually happen...

I think he stands to lose more than he will gain by leaving. I think he will cash in on our better players and get some cheap young ones in, hopefully using the capable young players we already have. And he will stay for at least 1 crack at League 1.

We'll go into Admin if Mandy leaves, even if he does find a buyer first they wont be able to pay the wages we have here

There will be a few players leaving, though maybe not the ones we'd want to get rid of.

Administration is not an option.

Louis Dodds to rip league 1 up.

Trouble with Mandaric he says all these things "i'm not leaving, etc" and now we are relegated he backtracks them, would i be surprised to see him sell up? nope..

IF he does lets hope it's to someone who isn't gonna take us straight into administration as that could with ease be a possibility with the money we blew

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric has admitted he will need a couple of days to 'calm down' before deciding on his own future and that of manager Ian Holloway.

The Foxes were relegated from the Championship following a goalless draw with Stoke on the final day of the season.

Mandaric has vented his anger and spoken of the heartache he felt when Leicester's demise was sealed.

"It is not an easy moment. It is one I have never experienced before in any project, whether business or football," Mandaric, speaking from the United States, told Sky Sports News.

Dreadful

"It is a dreadful experience. It is a shame. I feel let down and right now I am not a very happy man.

"You don't have to be Einstein. If you look at the support I have given to my managers and my players, both financially and morally, and what do you get in response?

"You expect rewards and results. We didn't get it and you have to feel let down."

Asked about Holloway's future, Mandaric replied: "I cannot discuss that. I need a couple of days of calming down.

"We need to come up with the right strategy. We owe it to the supporters to turn this around and find some positives in this dreadful time."

Mandaric also conceded that he was not sure whether he would be staying on as chairman.

He said: "I don't know. I am not going to make any decisions at this moment. We have to face the facts and regroup."

Mandaric did defend himself when questioned why he was in America on such a crucial day of the season.

Sorry

"I have seen 45 games," he explained. "This was a very important family meeting that was scheduled three months ago, when I never dreamed we would be in this situation."

Speaking directly to the fans, Mandaric added: "I think only one word can describe everything - sorry. We have let you down and we didn't expect to let you down.

"I put a lot of money where my mouth was but unfortunately it didn't work out this year.

"We all go down sometimes and I always say the loser is the one that that doesn't get back up, not the one that goes down.

"So we are going to get back up and I hope we get their help and forgiveness for what we have done wrong. We must look forward and put Leicester back in a position where we need to be."

For all those who want MM to go I have one question.

Do you have the money to buy our club?

If you don't then just think what the financial implications might be.

where were all the other knights on white chargers when we needed them?

I don't remember too many on here berating him for backing his managers with money in the transfer market!

yes he is responsible for managerial appointments but of all those names touted around how many were prepared to come here? We don't know. How many were not allowed by their clubs to be approached we simply don't know. His biggest mistake was to listen to fans who were so vehemently opposed to a certain Mr. Warnock.

Holloway will go and maybe MM as well. If that happens then I hope like hell he has a ready made buyer or we will be in real shit.

I really feel sorry for Milan

I feel sorry for us. I feel sorry for the supporters who have spent time and money following this team as it has sunk lower and lower, who bought into his bullshit when he took over. I feel sorry for those that went down to Plymouth and Southampton, for everyone that watched us capitulate against Wednesday at home - but I sure as shit don't feel sorry for one of the men directly responsible for putting us where we are.

He may be able to do something positive for us now, but on balance of what he has done since taking us over I sincerely doubt it. I'm not campaigning for him to leave - but let's just be a bit more honest in our appraisal of the man, eh? He royally ****ed up this season and he needs to shoulder responsibility for it.

Amen to that. Couldn't have said it any better.

Totally agree, although I am campaigning for him to leave.

For all those worried about administration, Mandaric can't leave City in the doodoo next season without opening himself up to a whole monumental liable/slander case re: his comments to the Mercury a couple of weeks back.

Beside which I think he was being honest and that he wouldn't bail on a club in our position. I suspect that what Ched said is correct, he may let someone else take the reins whilst he remains the owner and financier. If he leaves, his legacy, at the end of his life, will be that of a quitter and he strikes me as the kind of man who wouldn't like that.

PS, I need a new sig... the Blue Lantern is crap

This is Milan's big break: It's asset-strippin' time!

Less taxes, less expenses plus a few million quid in his pockets after a couple of player sales. There will be some happy agents in the next few months.

As for the debt, well, someone else who wants to own a football club will have to deal with that a few years.

Agree with most of that. I've stood up and defended Mandaric on occasion but you can't deny the fact that he took over a club that was stuck about 15th - 18th in the league and somehow managed to make them even worse.

I think he's been unlucky but I also think he's sanctioned some woeful signings and made some poor choices in managers. He has to take his share of the responsibility and I'll think him an incredible hypocrite if Mr. "The-loser-is-the-man-that-doesn't-get-back-up" walks out on us now.
