Automated cup run

Anyone else had this offered to them when renewing their season ticket?

Basically they just take the money out your account when we get a home game in the cup and send you the ticket. Bit like Man Utd's controversial policy but you get it as a choice instead of it being mandatory.

I'm a mug, I said yes. It was only on the way back to the car I realised I'd effectively signed away £100 of my money for five home ties in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. I may well have to rethink that particular brainwave.

Hmmm, that puts a different gloss on it.

Potentially £27 for a JPT game. ;)

It will probably be cheaper than that though.

If the JPT tickets are any more than a fiver for the early rounds (they really ought to free for ST holders) then the crowds will be in the hundreds rather than thousands.

Why should they?

Why should they?

Because they should reward loyal fans who pay the same next season to watch shit teams like Hereford and Roachdale as we did this year in the Championship.

And as said earlier, if they don't then there will be hardly any one there.

They can't, unless they're willing to pay for all the season ticket holders share of the ticket money to the other clubs who get a share of the ticketing profits?

Good point, hadn't thought of that.

I understand the argument, and wouldn't say no to the odd free crap cup game, but I do accept that I am rewarded for being a season ticket holder by virtue of getting cheaper tickets.

I accept that you get your tickets cheaper, but there'll be some games next season I'm sure, that you wouldn't go to unless you'd already paid for the ticket. Add to that the fact that I'm bound to miss at least one game next season due to other commitments, then a nice freebie wouldn't go amiss.

Having said all that my argument's been blow out of the water by Filbertway, so that's that. :P

If true, it's not a bad idea but for this season lol

Anyway, what happened to the days when cup games were free with a ST?

I don't remember that. When was that?

I think they last did it when we were last in the Prem.

I remember that; Crewe at home in the first game

Yeah shit loads there as well. Took ages to score.

They used to do it at Filbert Street as well in the 90's. Typical that I always missed the free ones, but went to the ones we had to pay for :):(

They weren't free, you paid for 2/3 cup(not sure) games as part of your season ticket. If we didn't play 2/3 home cup ties that season the club paid you back at the end of the season.

Well we didn't play in lots of home league games this season,do you think we'll get a refund?
