Father Ted Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Kitson, what a waste of money. Almost as bad as Chopra. I rate Kitson, but it's just whether he can play without Doyle... EDIT: Also, all these reports that Fulham will pay £10.75m for Andy Johnson. WTF! I wouldn't pay £10.75 never mind £10.75 MILLION!! You could have bought 2 Dave Kitson's for that. Or even 1 Kevin Doyle. Or even 3 Steed Malbranque's or 2 Jimmy Bullards!

Unabomber Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Sunderland have signed Teemu Tainio on a 3 year deal, and Sky Sports understands that Pascal Chimbonda has also signed. Two solid experienced Premiership players, and fairly good signings for them I reckon.
Joe. Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Chimbonda's such a petulant twat. He'll only have gone to Sunderland for the cash for sure.
Simi Posted 23 July 2008 Author Posted 23 July 2008 Chimbonda's such a petulant twat. He'll only have gone to Sunderland for the cash for sure. Mr. Keane showing his true colours. He talks a good game, but doesn't follow it up.
Sods Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Friedel Set For VillaNow that's a signing. True. Most underatted keeper in the Premiership
FleckneyFox Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Friedel Set For VillaNow that's a signing. Why didnt they go back in for Carson?

Two solid experienced Premiership players, and fairly good signings for them I reckon. Very good signings, especially Chimbonda. Friedel Set For VillaNow that's a signing. It is, a very good one. Not a long term one though. True. Most underatted keeper in the Premiership Yes he's good, but he's very highly rated so that makes no sense. Why didnt they go back in for Carson? Something to do with the Barry deal I reckon. And the fact Liverpool wanted 10 million from them allegedly.
Unabomber Posted 23 July 2008 Posted 23 July 2008 Very good signings, especially Chimbonda. I believe Steed would be a very good signing.
Father Ted Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 You rate Kitson and Doyle above Andy Johnson? Why? Because they score goals and they're not small little baldy divers.
lildave3 Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Because they score goals and they're not small little baldy divers. A. So does Johnson. B. He's not a diver.
Alexikokopops Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 That's so blatantly for money. PSG are dog now. It's not that surprising. He wants to end his career in his home country and had the opportunity to live in the capital, which also happens to be where he grew up. He's 35 now, he's not going to be playing for much longer.

Yeah also I heard his partner and child live there too which is fair enough to be honest. My comment was hasty I'll admit!
Father Ted Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 A. So does Johnson.B. He's not a diver. After a league match with Chelsea on 17 December 2006, then Chelsea boss José Mourinho branded Johnson "untrustworthy" following a challenge with Chelsea goalkeeper Hilário. Everton issued a statement threatening legal action and calling on Mourinho to apologise,[1] which he has since done.[2] Mourinho is not the first to air such sentiments about Johnson; former Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock also having accused Johnson of resorting to "gamesmanship" to win a penalty in a Premier League match between the two clubs.[3] Off Wiki. The truth is he is known for diving and cheating. And, ok, he scored goals for Palace, but not really for Everton...
Brainy Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Why didnt they go back in for Carson? My mate said that he was the worst Villa keeper he had seen, said he rated Enckleman higher than Carson

Mourinho and Warnock? Seriously.

SamL Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Sulley Muntari - Portsmouth to Inter Milan (£12.7million)
Joe. Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Sulley Muntari - Portsmouth to Inter Milan (£12.7million) Harry certainly knows how to wheel and deal in the transfer market.
SamL Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Harry certainly knows how to wheel and deal in the transfer market. He's made a £5million profit on what he paid for Muntari a year ago. I expect he'll spend the funds on Wright-Phillips. Inter Milan were actually one of the teams in for Muntari before he joined Portsmouth.
Simi Posted 24 July 2008 Author Posted 24 July 2008 What a weird signing by Keane.Link Surely Fulop would be a better choice than him?
SamL Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Surely Fulop would be a better choice than him? Indeed. According to that article, Colgan is there to add experience. By the sounds of it, Roy Keane wants a number of keepers so I'd guess Fulop is still wanted.
lildave3 Posted 24 July 2008 Posted 24 July 2008 Surely Fulop would be a better choice than him? He's 3rd choice isn't he? Makes sense to me, bring in someone on a free and then sell Fulop for some moolah.
