Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Bad move I think for RobinsonBlackburn.
Father Ted Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Average at best. Not a great goalie. And as somebody pointed out before - Chris Kirkland would be a much better option - In my eyes very under-rated!
lildave3 Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 Bad move I think for Robinson. Spurs number 2 or Blackburn number one? Tough choice.

lildave3 Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...=Robinson+James And what's that got to do with this thread?
Joe. Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 And what's that got to do with this thread? That I foresaw Robinson's shitness ages ago.
lildave3 Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 That I foresaw Robinson's shitness ages ago. Allow me to do an Ultra. ' '
The Stig Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 That I foresaw Robinson's shitness ages ago. And I'm forseeing his return to the limelight
Father Ted Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...=Robinson+James I have to give you that one
Tevez Posted 25 July 2008 Posted 25 July 2008 As much as I'm a fan of O'Neill, all I can say is WTF is he doing? Buying a 37 year old keeper a million-and-a-half-less than Carson. Ok, James is playing and he's in his 40's. Robinson will, without a doubt, be the next number one Should James retire. But knowing Capello he's bout to trial and test. If I was Ince, I'd be laughing. They should be up there for a Uefa spot.

They should be up there for a Uefa spot. Carson can be a good player but he lacks consistency. O'Neill already got his one-for-the-future in Guzan, now he's after someone for the next 2-3 years while Guzan makes the step up. Friedel is one of the best keepers in the premiership and is far more consistent than Carson and far more talented than Robinson (who I've never been convinced by, he's a poor keeper and is only rated so highly because of the media's bias towards Spurs). I think its a very shrewd signing, to be honest.

Good signing imo!

The signing of Friedel is going to count against him at the appeal.

placidcasual Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 I thought he'd already signed? Pending a work permit.
Father Ted Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 I think the Friedel signing is an excellent signing! I think Villa have a very strong team for next season and will definitely be pushing for Europe.
SamL Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 The Friedel transfer has been confirmed, looks as though it cost Villa £2.5million. Olofinjana has moved to Stoke for £3million.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 My brother has told me a Heskey - Panathanaikos rumour. Anyone reckon that the move will do him good?
Joe. Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 My brother has told me a Heskey - Panathanaikos rumour. Anyone reckon that the move will do him good? Yeah I heard about this somewhere else too (possibly BBC Sport rumour page). For Heskey I get the feeling this move wouldn't do him that good. But I do think that more English players should move abroad, nearer the start of their careers. It's done some players a world of good.
