Daggers Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 fook me - those pictures of crying Leeds fans are as funny as the ones when they got relegated last year!
Matt Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 YESSSSSSSSS! See ya next season Leeds We could be in the same position next season (Hopefully in the play-offs but win them) but it's ever so funny to see Leeds like this. We all hate Leeds, We all hate Leeds, We all hate Leeds, We all hate Leeds.
davieG Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 So on current form it should be Rochdale we'll be playing next season.
Jordan Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 This is not the result I wanted. Leeds will probably get better next season and they're a lock to take one of the promotion places. This leaves Leicester fighting with 22 other teams for two places rather than three. However, if Leicester don't get hit hard when the transfer window opens, I still think Leicester will do very well in League One--today's game showed that this league is poor.
Daggers Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 The salutary warning here is that "bouncing back" to the Championship is a sodding massive job in the first season even if you have a steady management and a reasonable squad. We have neither - I'll be amazed if we even make the play-offs.
purpleronnie Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Thought Docaster would win, so not surprised, the quality was very poor. Maybe we have a chance in that division.

But I guess that Leeds would have been automatically promoted without their 15 point deduction.
Matt Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Also no-one mentions Southend reaching the playoffs, they got knocked out in the semi's but still Southend got relegated from the Championship and there were competing up the top in the play-offs.
Daggers Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Thought Docaster would win, so not surprised, the quality was very poor. Maybe we have a chance in that division. It pissed on most of what I have seen us do this season. We are a seriously poor team, we would have easily lost to Donny today. Their supporting midfield play and defence-splitting balls would have ripped us to shreds. Next season is not going to be a walk in the park.
Floating Fox Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Why is it a farce, they're a team that's trying to build it takes time. As for deserving their position - of course they do they've earn't it just like we've earn't ours. What's wrong with their Stadium surely it's just a smaller version of ours You sound like you should have that swastika on your arm If you can't sell out at wembley then thats really poor support. And it's not like it was just a couple of empty seats, there was LOADS! They are another club, backed by a rich owner (Who has actually spent the money well ), that used to be tiny and are now bigger than us and other proper clubs like Leeds. I can remember when they were in the Conference and i'm only a nipper. And as for the stadium, you answered the question yourself... Mixed emotions about the result for me

I remember when we went to the play-offs with 30,000 plus and we weren't even selling out Filbert Street. Does that make us better? Doncaster is considerably smaller than us and Leeds so you might expect their crowds to be proportionally smaller. You sound like you've got a case of sour grapes.

Mixed emotions about the result for me I can't see too much of a problem here. Empty seats may not look great, but it meant the Doncaster end was full of proper fans, not hangers-on and day-trippers. At least the owner is a fan of his football club, put his own money in and backed it all the way. Well done to the bloke, and Doncaster in my opinion.
purpleronnie Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Didnt Doncaster have to stop selling tickets becasue Leeds fans were queuing for them?
Ultra Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Didnt Doncaster have to stop selling tickets becasue Leeds fans were queuing for them? They did. Today's result also means we may have a chance of retaining Alan Sheehan. A happy day indeed..
Thracian Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 They did.Today's result also means we may have a chance of retaining Alan Sheehan. A happy day indeed.. I'd certainly imagine Sheehan would be well pissed off not playing a part in the game, especially considering the limitations of the guy who took his place when he was suspended. And McAllister got what he deserved with the result. But I'm equally sure Sheehan, when he looked around Wembley as part of Leeds' 16-strong squad, will have felt none of it would have happened had he not moved on. I'd doubt he'll stay here.

That would be great! He is shocking, takes a decent corner and free kick, thats it! Hope Leeds buy him!
Number 6 Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 That would be great! He is shocking, takes a decent corner and free kick, thats it! Hope Leeds buy him! You are going to be in serious trouble when Thrac reads that
Ultra Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 That would be great! He is shocking, takes a decent corner and free kick, thats it! Hope Leeds buy him! Didn't see many decent setpieces from Leeds today. Nor in our closing games of last season...
Kilworthfox Posted 25 May 2008 Author Posted 25 May 2008 Good, Elland Road next season again Delighted
Tilley Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 Not sure I'm glad Leeds lost, Do we really want them in our division next season, Donny play good football, But Leeds' defence was bloody awful.
Floating Fox Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 So I don't see what your problem with them is, the fact that they couldn't fill their seats at Wembley could show that they don't have as many glory supporters. Does that make us better?Doncaster is considerably smaller than us and Leeds so you might expect their crowds to be proportionally smaller. You sound like you've got a case of sour grapes. I see the point about glory hunters, but at the end of the day every team is going to attract more fans to wembley. At least we could take 30'000. Doncaster is still a reasonably big place, Just under 300'000 population but yes it's smaller than Leeds & Leics. I can't see too much of a problem here. Empty seats may not look great, but it meant the Doncaster end was full of proper fans, not hangers-on and day-trippers.At least the owner is a fan of his football club, put his own money in and backed it all the way. Well done to the bloke, and Doncaster in my opinion. In 2003 Doncaster averaged under 4'000. So taking 20'000 fans to wembley doesn't really show it was full of proper fans. It just shows that money rules everything in this game, I hate it. I agree at least he did it with his own football club, instead of going for a big outfit but still, it shows that you can be succsessfull by simply having the money. Clubs used to have to earn the money.
