Asha Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Get-a-Grip. It's hard for me. 2 years ago, I actually spent 3 days hiding under my bed because apparently Korea were sending a nuclear bomb our way. Worrying is just something I do, and at times it stops me making the most of life. Most people say 'Don't worry bout it - it might never happen', and I suppose I'm always one of those who thinks negatively. I stopped watching the news because it made me worry too much and stopped me doing anything. Media grows partly through fear. They exaggerate as much as reasonably possible, although at the age of 14 and after a term learning bout the effects on Hiroshima, a certain amount of fear and depression can exert itself on you.

I do love you're ability to make things up to entertain. I salute you sir.
Finnegan Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 How dare you assume terrorism has anything to do with Muslim extremists just because they have stooped to the depths of exploiting the mentally ill. You sir are a racialist! DEY TUK UR JERBS!
ozleicester Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Well the IRA did it once.I was down there at about 5.25. Just down from my bus stop (near wilkos) there was a first bus, it was facing up charles street towards the train station. It may not be related but something was kicking off on the bus. The driver was on his radio and all the passengers were at the front of the bus apart from one or two. There was a bloke as the back who was acting very animated and looked like he was shouting and arguing with someone. I was expecting the police to turn up at any moment. Yes it's you being thick... although I was in town and not far away on the day of the IRA bomb (I was shopping with my mum, ha) hmmm...so..YOU were there around the time of both of these "events"...anyone else seeing a link here?
MikeyT Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Rediculous eh! See a package and that's it, bomb disposal's in, just shows what the world has come to! Exactly mate. Cant believe how much times have changed in the past 20ish years. Unbelievable!
MikeyT Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 A terror suspect was arrested a couple of streets away from me yesterday, was on the front of yesterdays Mercury. Not really related to this thread but I just wanted to say Yeah i saw that on the local central news! You dont expect to hear that sort of stuff happening in Leicester. I mean you hear of bad/horrible things alot in Leicester, but never terrorist suspects!

It was this bloke that caused it all, he looked to be an asian man in his 40's. What makes me laugh is the bus driver was keeping all the passengers on the bus. One woman got off and he told her to get back on... good job it was much ado about nothing.
MPH Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Yes it's you being thick... although I was in town and not far away on the day of the IRA bomb (I was shopping with my mum, ha) so to stay safe we just need to keep away from you?
JadeFalcon Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 lisa i was standing outside the shop it blew up at 30 seconds earlier looking in the window, walked into charles street and it went off, was less than 50 meters from it
Father Ted Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Inexplicably foul-mouthed old women are actually the best thing in the world. Definitely, have you seen the MOTD2, 2 Good 2 Bad, and the old woman who sticks her middle finger up at Giggs? 2 years ago, I actually spent 3 days hiding under my bed because apparently Korea were sending a nuclear bomb our way. How old were you? 14?
Babylon Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 so to stay safe we just need to keep away from you? well i've not been hurt, so you could say stay close to me and you'll be ok.. Oh and my brother was in the Bali nightclub the night before it got blown to pieces

I'd just got on the bus home when it went off, being round the corner though, that is scary.
Tommy G Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 It's hard for me.2 years ago, I actually spent 3 days hiding under my bed because apparently Korea were sending a nuclear bomb our way. What??? I'm sorry but thats unbelievable. If they sent a nucleur bomb over, hiding under your bed will make no difference whatsoever You would just vapourise. I suspect you just made this up!

Duck and Cover and the americans trusty method of combating nuclear weapon, it's not just a make of clothes. Although I suspect the reasoning may well have been the same as the brace position on a crashing plane. Keeps you teeth intact so they can identify you burnt remains.

Next time there is a nucleur weapon heading my way, i won't hide. If you know your going to be brown bread then you may aswell go out and do something stupid, and not worry about the concequences...instead of hiding under your bed!
