AjcW Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 Quick update for anyone with the status update issue: The stalker check app was a virus and has now been turned on. And basically its taking over your facebook and fecking with it. Hence seing statuses from days ago. So basically delete it and all should be fine.
Tommeh Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 Wrong. Mines fooked up atm and I havn't touched any silly stalk checker things.
AjcW Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 Wrong.Mines fooked up atm and I havn't touched any silly stalk checker things. Apparently even if your tagged in a friends fan check it affects you. "Alleged Workings of the Fan Check Virus on Facebook According to the reports surrounding the Fan Check virus, it is an application that entices Facebook users to sign up for a RSS feed of their friends, which would then be posted onto their wall pages. Supposedly the Facebook Fan Check virus requires you to become a fan, and this provides access to your friends, which in turn will be targeted with an email that leads to their computers' infection as well. The problem associated with this bit of Fan Check virus news is that there is no confirmation but instead reliance on reports of a few, unnamed people. Fan Check Virus Searches Lead to Malware Sites Here is another problem associated with the alleged Fan Check Facebook virus: since it became a hot news item, a host of sites have sprung up that supposedly contain information on the Fan Check virus, but which really are malware sites. After running across one myself, I strongly suggest that you do not attempt an Internet search on the "fan check virus" unless you have updated, high-end antivirus software in place.:
Ashley Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 I've just been told about the virus aswell, delete the pics your tagged in people.
Tommeh Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 I've just been told about the virus aswell, delete the pics your tagged in people. All 900 odd....I'm ok.
AjcW Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 All 900 odd....I'm ok. haha no he just means the fan check pics
Libertine Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 It's been happening again? Jeez. And it doesn't count page views btw.
Katy Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 That explains why the amount of pictures im tagged in has suddenly shot down then. Hang on.... no it doesnt as some are still there. Im confused now! Her account is still there, and so are her photos. Which is why you can't delete it Katy The profile has to stay if only for the post Southend videos! I haven't deleted it, I don't want to delete it I'm just really fecked off with it. I just am not not looking at it or putting pics up or anything for a week or so. And this fecking fan check thing has tipped me over the edge with it quite frankly.
Katy Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 Oh yeah, and Micky Ruddle gets married more often than Ross from Friends!
syston_fox Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 Wrong.Mines fooked up atm and I havn't touched any silly stalk checker things. Same here and I havent been tagged in any of them either so think there's a bigger problem with the site than just that stupid application.

If your friends have though, you might be affected. Apparently if you're tagged in one or you do one, then it takes 24 to 48 to infect your friends too. Or something.
StanSP Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 Deleted my Fan Check app thing anyway just incase.

Well, every time I have logged in today, I have had to see your chest in the 'highlights' section down the side!! That's not good for someone with a constitution like mine.
