purpleronnie Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 It really is painful.Swiss to win this and qualify I think. Is it painfull that we're not good enough?, or that you won't be able to watch England?. Although of course I would like to see england there its kinda cool watching a stress free tournament. Unfortunately for me the Euro's may well not be happening, the USA aren't in it so no-one really cares.
Matt Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Where's England? I've asked that many times.....During England games.
lildave3 Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 That is a hideous ball. Is it? Anyway, Behrami is looking good for the Swiss, Barnetta needs more of the ball though.
Father Ted Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 What a rubbish opening ceremony A good, fast tempo though. No clear cut chances though.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 ****ING BOLLOCKS ****ING FREI AND HIS ****ING SHIT KNEES BAG OF SHIT!!!!!
lildave3 Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 ****ING BOLLOCKS ****ING FREI AND HIS ****ING SHIT KNEES BAG OF SHIT!!!!! You never expected that bet to come through anyway did you? Either of them.
Manwell Pablo Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 :laugh:You never expected that bet to come through anyway did you? Either of them. Outside shout! Can't deny he looked lively, more so then the rest of that team. Gelson Fernandes is a absloute bag of wank!!! And do not even get me started on Marco Streller!!
syston_fox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 This is just dire! Has either keeper made a real save yet? And I'd love to smack that swiss left back (guy who got the first booking) - he's just got one of those faces you'd love to punch.
syston_fox Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Yeah was a great chance. The most frustrating thing about this game is the amount of free kicks that are being wasted. Theres been loadsa around the box and the crosses have been poor and the shots are going over. (Watch them score from one now)
purpleronnie Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Yes 1-0 hope it stays that way thats what I predicted.
Joe. Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 That's as scappy a win as you'll ever see. The Czechs were very poor and didn't really deserve the win in my opinion. But to be fair they took their chance and they've got the win and that's all that counts at the end of the day. Switzerland should definitely have had one penalty with the first handball so they can count themselves unfortunate but there's not really much else to moan about when Vonthalen misses chances like those.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Lucky win for the Czechs, can't see them progressing any further than the quarters and hopefully not even the group stages. It's a shame Switzerland were so toothless without Frei.
MC Prussian Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 Blah. Another harmless performance by Team Switzerland. Sure, the determination was there, but it was more or less wasted effort. We've been lacking one or two really good strikers for a long time and the central defenders are our weak spot, anyway (see how they misjudged the ball that led to the goal for the Czechs?). Frei's injury wasn't just a blow for himself, it affected the whole team. I'm one of those "realists" who predicted us to fail at group stage. Looks like we're right on track.
Finnegan Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 To be honest I thought you looked a far better side with Frei off. That's not necessarily because of his performance or ability, but simple because Yakin's introduction seemed to completely change the side. Why on Earth doesn't he start? I appreciate he might be a bit of a prima-donna, but I thought he really made things happen.
Matt Posted 8 June 2008 Posted 8 June 2008 Sky Sport News. Breaking News: Switzerland captain Alexander Frei out of Euro 2008 with knee ligament injury. Poor chap.
