On a similar theme.

Vanity sinks - never big enough.

Hand dryers - never run for long enough but even if they do spray an aerosol of bacteria laden shit into the atmosphere and the punters never completely dry their hands such that water drips everywhere. Give me paper towels every time.

I rarely eat from a buffet, particularly the salad cart at Harvester. It's not just people using their fingers, I've seen kids having a pick of their noses whilst choosing salad.

I know Wells well and the beach is about ¼ mile from the actual village, and the beach car park isn't massive, but to think it's ok to block access to the lifeboat station, which is a little before the carpark, to avoid a (very pleasant) 10 minute walk, is pathetic. These people should receive the highest possible fines.

And again.

I genuinely don't understand. Just tow the offending cars away and make them pay the fine + costs. That will stop it instantly.

That would have a deterrent effect over time, certainly, but it would still rob the emergency services of vital time needed while towing is happening, both in the short term and in the long term with entitled shitestains who will simply do it and pay the fine with no issue later anyway.

That being said, I'm trying to think of the best way they could use to remove the car immediately by themselves.

It might take a short time to remove cars to start with but people will soon stop parking there. Especially if there's clear signage warning of towing/fines if blocking access.

I'd rather have clear signage that the emergency services can and will break into your car to move it if it is causing a blockage, and they are in no way liable for any damage incurred while doing so.

Once the vehicle has been moved ASAP, that would be ideal.

At my old street in London the fire brigade smashed through a car that was causing a blockage to a house that had dialled 999. And I mean smashed through remembering the pics. They left leaflets scattered around the street saying they are legally bound to get to an emergency and you park on the street at your own risk of that. It was an acute problem on this street because it was the nearest free parking street to the station.

They've got a slipway there... Possibly a sea tractor...
