Agree that meat can often be used for flavouring and I should really change 'most' to 'some', and that's something you have to accept and sacrifice if you're going to become a vege.

But despite what we think about how realistic it is or isn't, the fact still remains that the reason veggies eat it is because they can't get any closer to the taste without either eating meat or becoming a food scientist/engineer, and as such they'd probably rather have a fake burger with the trimmings at a family BBQ than what is effectively a salad roll, and they'd probably rather have a vege bolognese than what is effectively pasta and sauce.

That's the part I can't understand people are struggling with?

You can make a really nice bolognese without any quorn/tvp products. My lentil bolognese is awesome.

Hoverers.

I mean this in many aspects of life, but perhaps the most annoying is the waiter who hovers over you when they see you have only two mouthfuls of food left. Maybe it's petty, but when that happens, I always take AGES to eat those last two mouthfuls.

The amount of postboxes in Leicester (not sure if it's a national problem) that you can't fit a standard A4 sized letter into without folding it in half.

Social clashes next week:

Real Ale & Cider Society - 7pm Tuesday

CFMS meeting - 8pm Tuesday

Do I go and socialise with course-mates (CFMS) or go out and get pissed with the Ale and Cider society with a fair bit of Football discussion (one of the other chaps in the society is a Burnley fan)?

The two meetings may have got merged into one. Good times.

Homes Under the Hammer.

Every single episode goes like this.

* Idiot goes to auction with house in mind

* Said idiot gets carried away and bids far to much for property

* Idiot spends a ludicrous amount of money doing up the property and insists on lots of unnecessary work such as replastering every wall and refitting all the electrics as well as paying somebody to fit top-of-the-range bathrooms and kitchens

* Estate agents comes round to revalue the property and it turns out its worth about £30k less than the amount the idiot has spent on the property

* Idiot tells the cameras that the estate agents have "got this one wrong" and the property is actually worth far more

When you make quite big changes (and a bit of a gamble) to try and better yourself in life and all your so called family and friends can do is put as many fvcking obsticals in yor way as possible and put you down as often as they can.

The irony is they're always the first to complain about the state of their own lives yet do NOTHING to try and make it better - sometimes I think they actually like complaining.

Somebody cleverer than me one said something along the lines of "If you keep on doing what you've always done, you'll keep on getting what you've always got". Well if my plan comes together - and there's no reason why it shouldn't I'll be happy to ignore their ignorant retorts.
