now I just want Djokovic not to win the title.

can't stand him

May I ask why you can't stand him? He's a rather intelligent, educated person, family oriented with good ethics. He's also very vocal against politicians and very active helping in academies and charities.

Always feel Djokovic doesnt get the respect his deserves in tennis, he is the best ever.

Federer and Nadal are regarded as being on par or better than him by some just because they fit into the standard tennis image a lot better than him.

Yes he perhaps isn’t as likeable, as Nadal or Federer.  However, as the only one of the trio that have won every slam at least three times, you could argue he has the better all round game.  If I needed someone to win some hypothetical match for my life,  I would have to choose Djokovic!

he's anti-vax, refused to be tested for doping with Serbia, and he's arrogant

but this is just my opinion

he's had vaccines all his life just didn't want the covid jab and he made the right decision

Not really. Any fit, young person was highly unlikely to 100% need the jab.

More accurate would be to say he took the gamble and it worked out fine because of his good health and youth.

He's not anti-vax. He only refused to a certain vaccination like millions others. He's been vaccinated with all the other known vaccines that actually prevent illnesses. Idk why some of you spread this kind of misinformation about him and his choice.

The doping case is actually a myth. Djokovic recently talked about doping in tennis following the case of Sinner.

It's totally fine to dislike him as a tennis player and have other favourites but imo it's not nice to hate him because he refused to take a certain vaccine.

It's rather darkly fascinating how some people trust the scientific method with their lives in some cases and won't touch the very same scientific method with a bargepole in others, isn't it? Still, I'm sure it was the same when vaccines for other diseases were introduced in the past.

I just hope that lack of logical rationality won't produce results for our species any direr than they already have in the future, though I fear they might.

Anyhow, on topic, can't look beyond a Alcaraz-Sinner final here.

The scientific method was completely different this time though? All the other known 100% effective traditional vaccines were on trial and review for 8-12yrs. I'm not saying the process nowadays can't be quicker but I won't judge anyone questioning science. Questioning and constructive doubt are foundations for scientific research.

Anyway. It will most likely be Sinner vs Alcaraz in the final. Sinner doesn't look at his best though so Djokovic might take this one to a 5th set decider. Dimitrov used some quality strategy vs Sinner with deep flat shots.

The method doesn't change - you either think the method applies and is held accountable via peer review across all such studies, or none. But I'll leave it at that in this particular thread.

Agree that Djokovic may give Sinner a hard time, but can't see him or Fritz upsetting things.

No. Because it was such a world-wide push to develop and roll out the vaccine, that meant that the testing and review time was able to be much reduced.

Compared to all the other successful vaccines we still use, Covid was and is the most rigorously tested vaccine in human history.

Sabalenka levels it up. I'm rooting for Anisimova though.

Was that Anisimova’s chance lost serving for the match ?

EDIT: No great win for her .
