Stearman Pro's and Cons's

he has played centre back before... think it was v Crewe a few years back. He was poor but they did have Ashton then.

he can be good, and i expect McCarthy will get more out of him then any of our managers, but he's nowt special in my humble opinion. great shout re: the long throw!

Pros

Alright at slide tackling.

Cons

Aweful crosser.

Too many girls fancy him.

Gets done over by Chris Brunt ever year.

To be fair to him, I loved him towards the end of the season. Really was a different player. And the fact I think he was our best player last year even though the first half was aweful. Shows what he can do. Right manager needed.

He's getting a bit of a raw deal as I suspect anyone who leaves will. You'd be better off trying to find a thread about him from about March/April time to get a realistic view of how he played last season. Our fans tend to forget he's still only 20 and has a lot of potential if he gets some decent coaching staff to work under - we haven't had decent coaching staff since the O'Neill days from what I can work out - we turn some very decent players into absolute shitboxes.

Stearman is a good player.

Hume and McAuley are woeful.

So in short, Wolves have done well but fu ck knows what Ipswich and Barnsley are playing at.

I'm still in shock we got money for McCarthy.

:giggle: Classic Stearman.

Me and my brother like to call it the shortest long throw in the game.

Good to see me and Fez aren't the only ones who've noticed his phantom long throw.

You dont seem to rate him and much as i thougth, surely he wouldent have got voted player of the season if he was that bad.

He was woeful in the first half of the season (seriously woeful), improved in the second half. It's just that everyone else was even worse

Wolves fan here i come in Peace.

Just wondering what his natural game is,

what is he good at where does he have to improve?

and do you think he will be a good signing for us,

I thougth he would go to the Premership if i am been honest.

Richard Stearman is the brightest prospect theat has come out of Leicester City since Gary Lineker!

He is a monster of a player on his day and only 20 years old, he will be better than Micah Richards in a couple of years! England definate! He runs like a Cheetah and is as athletic as a Gazelle, he skill is surpased only by a young Zidane and his application is like Roy Keane, those Golden boys from Wolverhampton have really beaten off stiff cometition from Aston Villa and Richards boyhood hero Martin O'Neill to sign for his hometown club which is and always has been in his heart.

Chris Brunt nothing! The fans on here are just jealous because we have been relegated for the 1st time in 124 years. Stearman is pure class and will prove a mighty good signing and will be sold on for Millions more to a top European side like AC Milan or Real Madrid.

Anyone who uses the words "4eva" or "4life" should have been shot at birth, and then burnt, and then launched into outer space.

Stearman is a funny player.

Right up until around December last year I as well as others deemed Stearman to be one our worst players. The first half of this season he was nothing short of diabolical, one of the worst in a poor team. I would have jumped at any opportunity to sell him, especially for the kind of cash we've received just now.

However, Holloway's stern words didn't just go over his head. Stearman really booked his ideas up and started improving vastly. He became more assured on the ball and became a far better defender and attacker at the same time. He ended up being one of our best players in the second half of the season to be fair to him.

Anyway, I'm not altogether to bothered that he's gone. The money seems good for him and he's replaceable. Whether or not he's good enough for a promotion chasing team like Wolves I'm not sure. It really depends which Stearman turns out for you.

Without doubt, Stearman responded to Holloway in a way that he hadn't for any of the previous managers - that's what lead me to believe he could continue to make his mark as a club captain IF he and Holloway stayed AND we didn't buy anyone else in to take on the role. He became more vocal and gained confidence from doing so even if he did retain some glaring problems with his defensive play.

I suspect he will suffer if he gets shit from his new home support as he did here, he displays his immaturity through his frequent bouts of self-doubt.

Still, he's gone - he could never overlap the wing like Chambers anyway and his crossing sucked arse.

I rated Stearman, think he's a pretty good signing for you.

However, he does have a pretend long throw, he has a massive run up but the ball goes nowhere :D

Most of the 'Stearman Lovers' are either his mates from school, facebook mates, or 17 year old birds that fancy him!

Most people that slag him off (myself included) do so as much now as throughout last season, the reason being because he's a cocky little twat and only has a big boot up field, I have no grievance with Wolves whatsoever (apart from the Akinbiyi rip-off). Ive been slating him long before he left.

He's shit, I glad he's gone.

I'd say he's quite attacking

You mean he tries to be attacking in that he wishes he was Ronaldo, bombs forward, loses ball, then out of place, opposition attack down our right flank, cross ball in, they score, 1-0 :scarf:

:giggle: Thats so true! He takes an enormous run-up launches the ball about 80 feet up in the air and it lands about 2 feet in front of him!
