wake up mandaric!

4 of our 5 best players last season (fulop, stearman, hume and macauley) have left the club and kisnorbo is on the long term injured list. I admire milan's optimism but this can in no way be dressed up as a good thing. we are at the lowest point in the club's history and the few bright spots of last season have jumped ship. remember you heard it hear first. mandaric is asset stripping and he'll be off by the end of sept.

You're right.

He's selling everything he can to make up for the losses he's made whilst here.

Once he has sold all the players and made his money back, he's gone!

I told you yeah...

This is probably not true.

But if it is true, it may explain the post in another thread in which stearman apparently said no effort was made by the chairman to negotiate a new deal with him.

Is it really a surprise we're selling these sort of players? We've gone down, so they're or either costing us too much or simple don't want to stay.

Good to see some of the supposed big names move on if you ask me they're hardly world beaters, Hume going to a site club like Barnsley says it all to me. 10-15 goal bottom half Championship striker who has failed to be much more prolific at League One Level. Can be easily replaced for 1.2 million. Stearmans a bit more of a loss.

Nigel Pearson though what the **** is going on there. >_< seems I can't go on holiday without us appointing a shit manager or letting one go.

1) Leicester were dicked around by Keane and Sunderland about Fulop. I can't blame Leicester for that, nor can I blame Sunderland for trying to get a high price for a very talented keeper.

2) If you were Stearman, Hume or McAuley, would you want to drop down to League One and spend at least one season playing against weaker competition, spend at least one season one level farther away from the Premier League, and spend at least one season earning less wages than you would in the Championship? (Stearman has an emotional attachment to Leicester City, no doubt, but he doesn't seem to thrilled with the way things have worked out between himself and LCFC, and at least he's not terribly far away from home.)

3) These things happen when teams are relegated. After 2004, there weren't many players willing to go down with the ship when Leicester were relegated from the Premiership. Clubs have to cut costs and players have to look out for their own well-being. I hate seeing this club get weaker as much as anybody, but some of these things are bound to happen.

4) Perhaps someone with more business knowledge can shed a little more light here, but if Mandaric is stripping LCFC of assets, wouldn't he be more likely to do this in order to reduce his and the club's tax payments? I'd figure that if he wanted to sell the club, he'd want its value to be as high as possible. The only other reasons why I can think of a club owner cutting assets would be if he wants to sell but doesn't think anyone would buy the club for a high price or if he's bound to get sued* and wants as little money available to be taken away to pay damages but both of those things seem unlikely to me.

* THAT'S JUST A REASON WHY SOME INDIVIDUALS OR BUSINESS HAVE CUT ASSETS AND IS NO WAY ANY SORT OF IMPLICATION THAT MANDARIC AND/OR LCFC ARE GOING TO GET SUED! I DON'T WANT MYSELF NOR FOXESTALK TO BE ACCUSED OF LIBEL, SO LET ME JUST STATE THIS BOLDLY AND CLEARLY! THANKS! :P

If, as the official line goes, City had to let these players go simply because they wanted to "jump ship", then logically it follows that we can expect Pearson to have a sizeable transfer kitty.

If Mandaric does not sanction all of the funds going towards replacements it will show that he cant be trusted to run Leicester City with a straight face. It doesn't matter how you dress this up - selling some of the club's most valuable players within a week of the new managers arrival was a clear indication of Mandaric's thinking. Why the unseemly rush? Surely the manager ought to have been given the chance to decide if they were needed or not and a chance to "change" their minds.

Leicester have no hope of promotion with what's left of this pathetic squad and it's current strength flies in the face of all Mandaric's "ambitious" rhetoric. It was barely good enough with the departed players, let alone without.

How much Pearson will be allowed to spend has also become a glaring statement of intent on Mandaric's part.

Well, it could be the start of a brighter future.

Some of the guys from last season were good. Some. The majority of that shit team played an active (or rather passive ^_^ ) part in getting us relegated to the third tier in English history for the very first time in the 124 years of the club's existence. That makes them crap. Crap. Really. Accept it. No matter how you rate them on an individual basis, no matter how much you like them or how good a friend they are to you, altogether they were crap and constantly trying to cover up their ineptness with meaningless pre- and post-match interviews or other comments.

I don't mind Hume lying to the supporters straight in the face by telling he wanted to stay with LCFC. Actually, he wasn't the only one saying that, so I expect some more of those "faithful" to leave soon (Clemence springs to mind). You can't blame a player for leaving a sinking ship, you can but question the way it was done. Again, communication has failed miserably at this joke of a club and I can only hope that Pearson's Regime can sort it out for once - we're always hoping for a new manager to switch to new brooms, aren't we? This week's transfers are a clear indication that the wind has turned and it'll send a clear message to other clubs that they can no longer just offload overrated footballers to Leicester City FC and cashing in big-time. Also, Mandaric seems like he's learned from his mistakes by having spent too much money on players and staff members that could never really live up to their expectations. This maneuver's not a such bad strategy, after all. Invested wisely, we could end up with a cracking starting eleven comes late summer. Cracking in terms of League One standard.

Look, some of you obviously have grown with some of our (so-called better) players and I understand that sadness and the emotions that come along with fan's favourites leaving. That's fine. I don't really fancy some of the younger talent like Stearman no longer wearing our shirt, but it was bound to happen. A footballer's life is short and money matters most, so on this side too, you want to maximize your profits. It's today's market and its rules.

I look forward to a new dawn, a new era with some new, young and hungry players that can form some sort of bond together within the next few years (before being sold to the highest bidder >_< ). So that ultimately, we'll we able to enjoy what we always wanted: watching a team play at the Walkers.

However, don't expect too much from the upcoming season. Start thinking in realistic terms. Please! I can't believe how many LCFC supporters are still living in Premier League Wonderland. We haven't been there in 4 years! Be thankful when we win, because I don't think this will happen that often. Be patient and let the squad develop into something much more formidable. We won't get immediate promotion (just look at what happened to Leeds). Fact. But with some hard work and dedication, we'll get back to where we once were.

THE END (for now)

To be fair, they won enough games to get promoted automatically, it was just the small matter of a 15-point deduction that meant they 'only' made the play-offs.

I could swear Milan/Les Hoos said that Pearson would be given a chance to assess the squad before anything happened, get to know the players. Perhaps it was during this that he assessed that some our our 'best' players really didn't want to be here, so getting shot was the only way forward. We need players who want to play for the club, in this division. If they don't, we're better off without them, regardless of who they are.

Mind, a totally new squad brought in over the summer hasn't helped us for the past few seasons....

Well what do you expect, I heard Mandaric wanted to interview the FT manager but the fooker was on holiday!!! lol

I see my error there. Apologies. Still, Leeds struggled for quite a bit in League One, so Automatic Promotion shouldn't be simply accepted as a given fact. The team will have to work hard for a top spot. REAL hard.

Put the player and manager carousel of the past few seasons into perspective: we've also had an awful lot of players just coming to Leicester because they and/or their agents wanted to feed their ego (aka playing in the Premiership or being a part of a former Premiership club) as well as feeding their bank account(s).

Couldn't agree more, it's a beast of a division & I think we'll be doing well to make the play-offs.

Aah, those heady days when we were a big draw for players...

Hopefully those players looking for a pay day will be replaced by some of the youth team squad, cos let's face it they can't do a worse job, but they'd do the job for much less money

To be honest ive said we need to start again and as people have said we can`t keep the likes of hume and stearman as they want to play at a higher level, were lucky in a way that kisnorbo is injured as I think premiership clubs would have been in for him otherwise. We still have a lot of work to do in terms of getting players out and in, but we need to create a new mentality in the squad. We need a balance of youth and experience to go with that, we need to wait and see in the next few weeks what sort of targets pearson is looking at. Mandaric is deffo trying to gain a little back from the investments he made last season, Id quite gladly see dj campbell, howard, clemance, chambers and hayes leave 2. After that then weve got to trust pearson to have good links in the transfer market and to pick out a gem of a striker. To Finish i wouldnt read too much into Mandaric leaving the club, I think he would have gone already if he wanted to leave.

Would be stunned if Milan sold up now. He would have lost a good £10M, and I canot see that being an attractive option.

A whole bunch of the team was always gointo leavel. And frankly none of them would have got anywhere near a promotion contender's starting 11 last year, so it is no surprise to see them off to frankly mid table / playoff level clubs at best.

The word Legend belongs nowhere anyone in this squad. Lets hope in a few years we have a few who are at least heading in that direction.

Maybe Manderic held off on agreeing the transfers until he appointed a manager. Once Pearson was appointed he stated that he didn't want anyone in the squad who didn't want to be there, so, Manderic let the players go.

That's just conjecture of course, but then, so is everything else in this thread.

Might well be right there, Chimp. If a leopard can change it's spots then Mandaric may be able to trust a manager as well.
