Babylon Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Leave our Michael alone Nelson is probably one of if not the best Centre half in the lower leagues IF he has a good goal keeper behind him. He bosses his area always first to the ball and goes in were it hurts... Awesome signing for you guys but he is also one of our Star assets but i cannot see money being a problem.. even though we held off bids on our Star striker Adam Boyd from luton until it reached 600k. I just want to link you to something as well. http://www.hartlepoolmail.co.uk/hufc/Pools...woop.4226945.jp You can have 400k and Barry Hayles... nothing more!!!!!
MC Prussian Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 You can have 400k and Barry Hayles... nothing more!!!!! "Buy one, get one Elvis Hammond for free!" As for Hartlepool denying the rumour, we can expect him to sign within this week. Pre-season starts next Tuesday so my guess is Pearson will try to bring in a few new faces before that.

We need hungry players who have been up there with the best in this league.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 This guy looks and sounds like he'll take no nonsense. We need one of these at the back. McAuley aslways struck me as being awkward and gangly, a bit too soft.
lookwhaticando Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 In the space of two minutes browsing this topic, this chap has gone from a well'ard-looking slaphead to looking more like an innocent chap from a good family with a full head of hair - perhaps he's a solicitor or something... Versatile. Love it.

Lovejoy Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 /68/71/0,,10326~3371368,00.jpg He looks fooking hard!
Unabomber Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 I hope we get him, we obviously need a central defender, and it is better to be signing other clubs in the same leagues better players compared with journey men just here to pick up the wages.
Jack Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 The lad looks a right unit. Sign him up, strikers will be scared to get anywhere near him.
Wilbz Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Looks quite good, as Jack said "strikers will be scared to get anywhere near him." looks solid!
SemperEadem Posted 26 June 2008 Posted 26 June 2008 Have seen him a couple of times before. I was very impressed and seems like just the player we need.
eye666 Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 From a Hartlepool forum: ' Lacks pace, poor distribution out of defence and physically can't handle an opposing striker of the same size or bigger. He does have good positioning though and is one step ahead in his thinking, that's how he get's away with playing at this level. He'll never play any higher.' http://hartlepoolunited.rivals.net/Forum/p...5&clubId=37
Toby or not Toby Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 If your on about his Porsche,Then Jay Smedley has got it Stearz brought a new Range Rover not long back didn't he. But this Nelson guy looks like he'll get stuck in, good enough for me Who does Jay Smedley play for these days? Could be a good signing, hopefully
Rodders Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Who does Jay Smedley play for these days? Eastwood Town, apparently. http://www.eastwoodtownfc.co.uk/players/smedley.php Notts. team playing in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

MikeyT Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Hardly sounds flattering does it? Meh, thats only one guys opinion.
Joe. Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Meh, thats only one guys opinion. That's the thing though, it's not!
Brainy Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Hardly sounds flattering does it? Sounds a little bitter to me.
HUFCPoolie Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 Take everything with a pinch of salt from hartlepool.rivals. They are the dregs of football supporters and if they aint moaning they aint happy. Nelson has grown his hair this season i blame that for dropping slightly off the boil To be fair he didnt once have a settled defence last season, chopping and changing every 5 minutes and a dodgey keeper behind him! Hardly instills confidence into a CB!

Durnerz Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 He looks like he'd tear the nutsack off a striker. Get him in, we need a brick shithouse back there, Matt Elliott came into higher level football towards his mid 20's so I have no worries on that issue. Just want a player who will give his right bollock for this team.

Apart from Dennis Bergkamp, very few centre forwards got past him. We need a striker, a midfield general and a couple of nutjob centre backs. He'll do as one of the nutjob CBs.
