DJ Barry Hammond Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 I'm sorry but - do we not have better within the club? I'm not sure this Nelson is quite the chap we're after - it seems very short termish. Look at the centre halfs Bristol City had last year following their promotion - they were not brick shit houses. Hartlepool's pitch is small and cramped - our's is hugh with lots of space to run in-behind. I don't like the thought of this slap head joining really. (Although someone's rummored he has hair - which may change my position - but only if it's a flowing mullet.)
Father Ted Posted 27 June 2008 Posted 27 June 2008 /68/71/0,,10326~3371368,00.jpg Get him in! Looks like a right hard bastard! Him and Worley and N'gotty would make one hell of a defence.

They held their own at most bigger pitches than their own as did players like Walsh and Matty in our colours, I have a good feeling about this guy.

Nationwider Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 He's a hard bastard and no mistake. I've had the pleasure of a few trips to the Victoria Ground in the last few years and I reckon he's ok. I'd probably take him now, but L1/CCC is his level. Don't expect to have unearthed the new Matt Elliott.

Nationwider Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 But Matt Elliot was 'Oxford' standard when we got him? A lot of other clubs sniffed around Matty before MON took the plunge. I can't believe there's the same interest for Nelson's signature. Time will tell. Nelson's not as good a footballer as Matt Elliott. What MN would give us is 100% commitment. Like I said, he ok, and given our current lack of a defence, I'd probably take him for 100-200k.
Manwell Pablo Posted 28 June 2008 Posted 28 June 2008 My god it's happening. We're becoming Nottingham Forest in reverse.

McCOMBE McCOMBE McCOMBE! I remember him scoring a one-on-one against Boston at the near post for Lincoln, helping put them 2-0 before Boston scored 2 in teh last 5 minutes (with Paul Gascoigne crossing for Jason Lee to head home the 88th minute equaliser). Brilliant.
Unabomber Posted 8 July 2008 Posted 8 July 2008 I assume with the signings of Tunchev and Morrison this isn't happening anymore.
billyfox1 Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 bid rejected http://www.hartlepool.vitalfootball.co.uk/...le.asp?a=116364
Stevosevic Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 I would imagine it was rejected some time ago and this deal is dead. We have enough center backs - Morrison, Worley, Tunchev, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo.
Jonezy Posted 21 July 2008 Posted 21 July 2008 Think that rejected bid is why Michael Morrison is now a Leicester City player.... Maybe thats a good thing, who knows....
