isaidno Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 That has to be the dullest 4-1 game I've been to. Apart from the goals , how many other chances did we create ?. Starman was probably Adams. Also, how crap were the stewards. The first bloke on the pitch was flashing his bits for ages and the stewards coudln't give a damn
Milky Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 why the hell don't we know what Tunchev is up to? What sort of shit arse reporters do we have in this friggin city!!
Craig Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 I completely disagree with everything youve said ..*When I say everything i mean the uncalled for song * how about the song about them going down on there mums .. ahh Classic or what .. You're a twat then, considering a large portion of the away end were actually from Kettering, still, chavs know best.
lildave3 Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 First pic, pure sex. Second pic features my old man. Ha.
Thracian Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 Two cracking first half goals surely earned Adams Man of the Match rating but it was good to see strikers Matty Fryatt and DJ Campbell plundering goals too - from near identical short-range lobs over the home keeper. Although a right winger Adams popped up in fairly central positions to power in a header from Mattock's corner and then to provide the perfect finish to an excellent move involving Mattock and a clever dummy by Fryatt before Adams despatched the final set up with a blistering 20-yarder. Leicester controlled the game for long spells with superior if predictable passing against what looked a disappointing Kettering team but still managed to look vulnerable defensively, at least in the first half. Not only did Kettering's right-back ghost through just inside the near post to thunder home an unchallenged header but they also missed a completely open goal with a close-range flyer which rocked the right-hand post and rebounded clear. None of the back line looked that convincing defensively but, in front of them, Wesolowski was in complete command, breaking up so many moves with his tenacity and good positioning and starting any number of attacks with his typically unfussy but unerringly accurate passes. Oakley looked well involved too but it was Adams' day. Fryatt made a solid contribution apart from his goal but Dyer disappointed me on the left. He didn't seem to have to pace to beat his man and he never struck me as a great threat any more than fleetingly. Second half Campbell replaced Hayles, quickly scored his goal and remained a livewire Kettering were never able to subdue. Gradel joined him later and there was no doubting his threat as emphasised when he twice cut inside and hit left-foot shots, the first of which was saved on the near post with the second swinging just wide of the far post with the goalkeeper nowhere. These efforts and other dangerous sorties resulted in what will probably be a common sight in the coming season - defenders blatantly chopping the lad down and referees inexplicably letting them get away with it. First he was deliberately tripped off the ball and shortly afterwards he was cynically scythed down. Not that Gradel seemed concerned. He just kept asking more questions but how Leicester needed people on both the far post and then the near post to take advantage. Ashley Chambers got another short outing and deserves mention for cleverly leaving his marker on his backside and trying an imaginative lob which wasn't far from sneaking in at the far post. Four-one sounds convincing and there's no doubt City were far superior even if they rarely threatened brilliance. But there's no way this was anything but a useful run-out in the scorching conditions. Kettering looked very ordinary and especially hesitant in defence for at least two of City's goals.
lavrentis Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 Thracian, have you ever considered a career in sports reporting, you could do a fine better job then the Mercury reporters.
Thracian Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 Thracian, have you ever considered a career in sports reporting, you could do a fine better job then the Mercury reporters. That's kind of you but I like my golf and my independence too much nowadays.

Thracian Posted 26 July 2008 Posted 26 July 2008 Did anyone try to buy food? It took so long I wondered if we'd still be there for Kettering's next home match.
Daggers Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Pfft, I always miss these kinda incidents. <<Re. the pic of Daggers - I won't repost it again!>> Was Daggers commando? I tried to urge people into a mass sexy celebration of our back2back win but was largely ignored or rebuked. Dumb supporters
Corky Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Thracian, have you ever considered a career in sports reporting, you could do a fine better job then the Mercury reporters. You must be joking. Thracian offers real insight along with criticisms. That sort of thing is not allowed at the Mercury you know, only crawling up the club's backside is permitted.
syston_fox Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Did anyone try to buy food? It took so long I wondered if we'd still be there for Kettering's next home match. Kilworth - legend!! Him and Carl joined the queue and we all put orders in as they got near the front. They ran out of burger baps as well so some of us had the quite brilliant "burger in a long roll" combo.
Daggers Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Mmm...numnumnumnumnum...burger in roll. Possibly the highpoint of the match.
diggler Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 The "I.D." related Gumbo songs aimed at this gentleman, were the best of the day IMO.

Daggers Posted 27 July 2008 Posted 27 July 2008 Try me. You chat-up technique requires work - either that or you need to start offering incentives alongside your 'Try me' offer. You may wish to considering offering a Mars Bar or something alongside any trial.
