Not put Tunchev in , because ive not seem him play, its like last year when Kaebi was getting in peoples sides and they had not even seen him play!

Let me tell you something Tunchev is the best defender you can have in your team. Hw should have been at the Spurs team, instead over here

Gilbert----Tunchev----Hobbs----Mattock

Gradel----Oakley----Jimbo----Adams

Fryatt----DJ

Yes please.

I think Adams and Gradel have done more in pre-season than Dyer and it's time to try both Gradel and Adams in the same team, it's still only pre-season so experimenting should be seeked if need be. Dyer will be a vital player for us over the season, but the flair and lack of fear that both Gradel and Adams appear to posses should be utilised.

I hope Tunchev get's a chance, especially against fairly tough opposition, will give him an insight in to what's he's up against in future.

I have an inkling Howard might be off.

Chambers over Gilbert at full-back please.

Couldn't agree more. He is quicker, more experienced and better going forward than Gilbert. The guy hasn't been given a chance since he arrived at City. He's constantly been moved around all over the park, but never had the opp to settle in his best position. The few times he has played at Right-Back he has always done welll.

He seems to find the role of attacking full-back effortless. He's a natural athlete, quick as you'll get in that position and determined too when it comes to tackling and blocking.

His only shortcoming seems to be in the consistency of his passing but surely the coaches can sort that with a bit of sustained effort. It's not as if he doesn't find any time and space. It's just that he needs to cushion the ball better on receiving it and then weight his passes more subtlely.

Bread and butter work for the training ground. Can't believe it's not been done really. But then the same goes for us having near post runners from set-pieces.

Seems odd that several of our managers and at other clubs often over look him. Perhaps he's missing something? I like the look of Gilbert, but I also rate Chambers. Glad we have both really given what league we are now in.

There's every indication that Pearson will involve em both. My biggest worry now is left-back - especially with the uncertainty over Mattock's future.

We seem to have cover in most positions apart from that and I am quite sure Pearson will find current squad numbers much easier to manage and keep involved than the multitude of friends and strangers we had milling around last year.

Bread and butter is much under-rated. It's a much maligned foodstuff. Bread and butter this, bread and butter that. But I draw the line at bread and butter work. Eating bread and butter is nothing like work.

If it is, I want that job.

Adams, Morrison, Tunchev, Hayles, Dyer, Kish and Fryatt all to feature. Maybe even Sappleton.

I don't understand why people want to leave Gradel out? He's the most likely player to create a spark and friendlies are about entertainment.

I'm also hoping that Macus Bent plays Tues night, he's one of my fav ex'LCFC players, will always have time for him.

Phillips will be a good spectacle too.

'Likely' Birmingham City first XI to face Leicester

Jul 28 2008 By Colin Tattum

ALEX McLeish has admitted he will have his likely starting Championship side in mind when Blues take to the field in their penultimate pre-season friendly at Leicester City tomorrow.

Notwithstanding new additions, the Blues boss said it was time to bed the team down, and concentrate on honing their sharpness after the weekend fixtures.

“Having assessed the two games and maybe thinking the journey to Gillingham had a bearing on the performance, I want to retract that statement,” he said.

“Watching yesterday’s game at Forest Green Rovers, I think there’s just a general tiredness about them.

“I don’t want to call it a malaise, but they are a bit leggy and we will be ready for the kick-off in a couple of weeks as we will start to concentrate on sharpness.

“We have overloaded them with the work in training, we have trained them on the morning of games very hard, but it’s all to give them a fitness base.

“The important thing is that they’ve kept working on their fitness. Even when they’ve felt tired during games, to keep going, to keep running. So we’re now building up and come Leicester City, I will be looking at using the first team squad in total.”

Garry O’Connor took his tally to four in four games with a late winner against Forest Green.

McLeish said: “Garry again has been pretty sharp but yesterday the big fella looked one-paced – they all did.

“Having experienced pre-seasons myself over a 20-year period, I know exactly how they feel: a little bit tetchy, there’s the heat and body language can make them look as if they are absolutely knackered.

“So our preparation has slightly been different to the two teams we played over the weekend, but it’s all designed for a purpose and the common goal of two weeks time.”
