Ric Flair Posted 6 August 2008 Posted 6 August 2008 I was pretty pissed off when we signed Dickov the first time around, I thought he was crap before he played for us. His tenure at Leicester, was probably the last player whose whole time at this club was consistently good. He was very good for us 5 or so years ago and I made the mistake of writing him off then. We've not had a striker like Dickov since he left, Connolly and Hume tried to play the role that Dickov played for us, but they struggled to do it on a regular basis. I think a 1 year deal is good business and as long as we can move Barry Hayles on, then I don't see any problem here. Fryatt and Howard are probably the main 2 strikers this season and DJ will have to prove his worth. Dickov will be there to get the job done when he plays, but he'll not be doing many 90 minute stints. We need 4 strikers that we can rely upon. We're getting there.

Don't mess with Max for this Maxi has worn 25 in training all pre-season, so doesn't surprise me. He wanted 7, but greedy Kish had it, so I imagine 2-5 is good enough for him. Why he didn't take 17, his number last season at Bournemouth is strange, especially as N'Gotty has no future here.

I feel commentators might struggle with us next year

Whenever you buy a shirt with a players name on, there's always a gamble that the player will move on or change number. You should acknowledge this before you purchase the shirt.

You should acknowledge this before you purchase the shirt. That's why I went for a blank one, I was seriously considering getting "Hume 7" but now he's gone I'm glad I didn't!
