Robbie Savage?

At what and where's the evidence these last three years or so?.

...The fact that Saveage got in a reasonable Premier League side for the past three years (excluding the past six months obviously) and Tiatto now plays in the A league.

Pretty clear cut.

Don't want him back mind, but he is clearly better than (former player of the season might I say seeing as your giving him a going over) Danny Tiatto

Gilbert, Hobbs and Martin are all loan signings. Are you saying these are Mandaric signings or Pearson signings?

I'm aware they're loan signings - Pearson's choice in my view - and think three is plenty. I'm much more sceptical about Savage being a Pearson choice and, while I don't rate him anyway, think a fourth loanee is too many and asking for trouble.

We went down that road in the Horsfield days and I'd rather forget how it worked out.

Savage is not Horsfield either

If I get time I'll complete the definitive list of players Savage is not so that we can all avoid any more confusion over the duration of this thread.

Robbie Savage is NOT Lee Marshall. There, I've started you off.

One goal in his last 92 matches since he joined Blackburn in 2005. Plus serious injury problems. Hardly convincing.

He was never a goal-scoring midfielder anyway.

Damn - now that's two lists I have to do: People Savage is not and now Things Savage is not and never was.

I wouldn't disagree but 11 in 82 for Birmingham (2002-2005) and 10 in 77 for Crewe (1994-97) was at least an acceptable contribution and a lot better than the 1 in 92 from his time at Blackburn and Derby (2005-2008) and which probably reflects the way his career is going.

For Birmingham he seemed to suddenly learn how to take a decent free kick and scored about 6 of them in one season if I recall. He used to be awful at free kicks when he was at Leicester.

You should talk about talking a load bull, you were singing Holloways praise towards the latter part of the season now you said in a recent thread he bought a lot of dross, You aint got a clue what your talking about you just go with flow you are probably one of the minority who does not want MM at the club. The last line means you are talking like a prat, tell me this you are so smart how many of the sacked managers are gone to get other decent jobs ones been out of work for 12 months.

Wrong... again... making a habit of this aren't you.

Towards the end of last season, I was merely standing up for Holloway not singing his praises! Yes, I did mention some good aspects but I never was saying he was doing a good job... far from it in fact as I clearly stated that I was unhappy with the situation and that it was a poor season!

As for wanting Milan at the club, well, I can't say that I've been overly happy with the way that things have been going since he took over, no... but what loyal fan with half a brain cell would be? Wasting money on useless players and taking us to our lowest ever position in over 125 years of this football clubs history... BUT, that said, and I state AGAIN... I am grateful that he is here and spending millions to try and take us back to the Premiership.

Once again your appalling English leaves me somewhat confused but I'll try to answer the question as I read it as best I can... Levein went back to Scotland and is now in the Scottish Premier League with Dundee United... not bad really. Nigel Worthington is Northern Ireland manager... an international manager! Megson is in the Premiership with Bolton after keeping them up last year which is a very good job and I've no doubt that Allen will be appointed pretty soon into next year when a manager gets the chop. All in all, most of the big ones we've had have gone back into jobs pretty quickly and are doing quite well... don't mention Holloway as he's only just been sacked by us really but I'm sure he'll get another chance somewhere soon too.

Finally, I don't just go with the flow, I still believe that Holloway tried to do some good things here but they just didn't work out. Probably it was best that he went so we could start afresh with a new manager and a new found spirit which we have... I have stated what I feel on Mandaric and I think it's pretty clear... if you can't get that I am happy with him being here spending his millions but not pleased with what he has achieved so far then it's not worth me even arguing with you.

i dont really understand why people have got a problem with him coming back...yes, he obviously wont be as good as he used to be for us but i still think he can do a more than capable job for what league were in. Hes the sort of player opposition dont like playing against and in my opinion i think we need a player like him in our team. :dunno:

Good god no.

He would add nothing good to the team whatsoever.

His arrival would surely see Clemence's departure.

I think he'd need his own parade for that achievement.

But we've got players like Wesolowski who can easily be the get-stuck-in type of central midfielder without being utterly past it and only after a bit of extra cash like Savage is at this point. I mean, when he's publicly been told to start giving a toss about training, it doesn't exactly leave him with a glowing record and we've already got plenty of league one capable players in that position. It'd be a waste - at least Dickov offers us something different.

i think that mandaric sees him as a cristiano ronaldo figure, in the way that he wants people to pay to come and watch him as he thinks hes a leicester legend in everybodys book! thats not the case! mandy sees him as a big name that people will queue up to see him! just dont get involved mandy!

i cant believe i just compared robbie savage to cristiano ronaldo!^_^:P

Players like Clemence and Oakley are probably better options than Savage now. His legs have gone, you could see that last season.

It'd be an interesting gamble.

but isnt Clemence injured at the moment?

He would probably keep out Weso or Andy King, who are young, energetic and can score a few goals. That's why I don't want him back here.
