Bagging a footballer

I've been married for over 40 years and have no idea if my wife's been unfaithful and wouldn't dream of asking. But work has taken me abroad for months on occasions while both my partner and I were very young and randy so I'd never be assumptious and to be honest, though I wouldn't want to know, I couldn't give a damn.

I'm privileged to have met and known my wife. Everyone fancied her when we were young and I couldn't blame em. She's been a gem to me. An unfailing friend, a constant support, mum to my three terrific kids, a person who has encouraged me in everything I wanted to do whatever the sacrifices and someone who'd defend me against anyone else even if she thought I was wrong.

Do I give a twopenny damn if she's ever taken comfort with someone else? Not at all. I married her cos I loved her in my own inadequate way, not to impose conditions on her life.

Perhaps it's ancient instinct. The fitter the guy the better the potential breeding potential. Yes I know it's often an illusion in many cases and for many reasons but the instinct remains I'm sure and is demonstrated by the number of women who will chase fit, brave, powerful or exciting males even if they know them to be violent, inclined to excessive drink or even ex-cons. There's no logic in it but it happens.

:appl::appl:

Picked out a few quotes there. First off congrats on being with your wife for over 40 years, in todays day and age it isn't so common for couples to stay married for 4 years let alone 40 plus :worship:

I agree with the bit in bold. I'd say it's down to these in order though when it comes to footballers WAGs

1) Money

2) Fame

3) Security

4) Posessions

5) Physically fit men

I'm no expert on women, but I'd say you're spot on Thrac with the ''fitter the bloke the better breeding potential'' part. Blokes do it the same, the more ''curvy'' a woman is, the more men are attracted to them subconciously for their child bearing potential. You don't stand there and say - look lads she's fit, got a great body, perfect for making babies! But I think that natural attraction stems back to caveman days, or so I've read..

Thrac - I've had friends forgive unfaithful partners, I had friends never forgive faithful partners, I've had friends who have done the dirty on their partners, and nothing in life is black and white, this is true. But if my other half chose to cheat on me with someone who was older than my mother, and less feminine than my dad, then I could never forgive that! :D

I'm sure it all swings on the ''degree of cheating''

I mean, is there any point on carrying on, once the trust has gone? And people who blame things on drink can fu ck off

Cowards lol*I wanted to cheat on you, but did so when I was drunk so I could have an excuse. But I was in full control of what I was doing and what I wanted to do*

And I'm sure you'll never need to.

:D :D Love number two!

But like I say it's Rooney let himself down and Colleen who, at least to me, retained her dignity. Hopefully he'll have learned from the episode in time to set his kids a better example and to properly value his wife.

And if those kids get the best education money can buy and they live a life they could only have imagined had their parents not been so blessed in terms of opportunity, then maybe Colleen will turn out to have been the wise one in not walking away.

Studies carried out by the widely-respected biologist Gould demonstrated that woman rank earning potential, and therefore security for their offspring, as the singlemost important factor in reproduction.

Sorry to disappoint you but muscle definition and the ability to run 100m without wheezing doesn't get close.

This thread is the nuts.

The biggest problem faced by potential wags is that the majority of City Players are not very good looking. At all. Non of them.
