Manderic's pants Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 I live in London (originally from Leicestershire and lifelong City fan) and always attempt to go and see them when I'm visiting the folks. I'm pretty sure last year it was something like £22 if you bought on the day. The last game I saw was against Colchester - well worth it. Last year I went to the games against the London teams (Palace and Charlton) and it was a lot cheaper - something like £14. This year, I'm anticipating it'll be even cheaper if I go down the road to somewhere like Milwall. Though I'm unlikely to sit in the home stands in my LCFC shirt as I did against Palace (some of the most boring fans ever BTW). I doubt Milwall fans will be so accepting.

Neil_LCFC Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 I think £23 is too steep for a walk up price,if it was £20 you would still get a good discount by buying a season ticket as opposed to paying each game. It should have dropped a couple of quid or so as we are seeing lesser quality opposition & the wage bill has been reduced in accordance for the players. The trouble is football fans just put up with it so they charge it hence I expect I will pay £23 at the gate on saturday.Mind if we are playing poorly after a few games expect the walk up numbers to drop significantly at these prices. £20 is the sweet spot for a walk up price in my opinion in this division.

Make them £19.99 seems so much cheaper....
Charnwood Norris Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 To get under-22 prices do you have to prove i.d? I'm 30 but look 18-22 range.
Manderic's pants Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 Personally I've always found Millwall fans to be gracious and very welcoming Yeah, I'm definitely in the away end that game. Lesson learnt when I went to Chelsea for the Carling Cup match. You an imagine how difficult it was to not shout out when we went 3-2 up. One fellow Leicester fan wasn't so subtle, prompting a cabbie thug 'Chels' fan to say: "Fak off you cant, just fak off you cant. Get this cant out of 'ere for I rip 'is facking froat art." Obviously I invited him out for a drink after.
20mj08 Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 this year was a bit of a ba###rd because i went from under 16 to under 22 whats an extra 70+ rise and being unemployed its had to pay for but i still done it so for these moaners saying they havent got 200 quid save up and go sum games then get a half season ticket if you have to. its possible this season shows us all the true BLUES who stick by through thick and thin

iancognito Posted 8 August 2008 Posted 8 August 2008 To be honest, even if it was just a couple of quid off the £23 it would have been a nice gesture from the club who must have known that season ticket sales and regular sales would be affected by the drop. But also, I don't see how you could grade in this division. In the Prem there are the top four the middle ten and bottom six so the grading is easy, in the championship, there are enough sleeping giants to split into two or three grades too. In this league - Leeds aside - no-one is a big attraction, no-one is likely to be a runaway leader so it's difficult to see how they could grade it. Sadly, I fall into the gap of being nearly 30 and not looking anything like a 20 something, having a huge mortgage and a job that means I work most Saturdays. Season tickets are pointless for me as in this league most games are on a Saturday. £23 a pop is too much. I've watched City for 22 years home & away, been a ST holder, seen all the ups and downs and stuck with them no matter what but however much of a buzz I get on a matchday, I can't justify £23 for it. By the time the days out, the travelling and everything else has cost me the better part of £30. I'd love to be there for all the games I can but enough's enough, I'll stick to the Stringer & Walsh show.

Anish Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 Crap deal, you save about £10. It's not that bad, and it's the best you're going to get if you can't become a ST holder. Matchday tickets at £23 x 5 =£115 This Platinum+ membership (including 5 match tickets) = £99 So you save £16 (bringing your matchday tickets to less than £20). People have said here that the tickets should have gone down a few quid - well they do if you're prepared to pay up front.
Finnegan Posted 9 August 2008 Posted 9 August 2008 I paid 15, being under 22 'n all Whew. Sweet. Thank the lord for looking like a 14 year old. \o/
