Phube Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Just moseyed on into the City Ticket office to check out the tickets for Saturday's game and.......... £23!!! But not just for the first Home game of the season... for EVERY game of the Season... I mean WTF!!?!? Not even a grading system!!? £46 (plus travel, food, drink) for me and the Missus to have the privilege of watching City draw 0-0 with Yeovil!!?! Well I'm honoured.... but!!!??? I'm speechless... There goes my attendances down even on last season's dismal 10 or so!! Thank God for LiveChat and Radio Leicester (sans Barber! )
Ozwin Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 I was going to make this exact topic myself. It's absolutely shocking. We're in League 1 FFS. I really want to go aswell.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Sounds like over 10,000 people who haven't got a problem with it on Saturday.
Bert Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 See, If you'd have purchased a season ticket... with the amount you'd have spent on match tickets, it'd have equalled itself out.
Babylon Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Sounds like over 10,000 people who haven't got a problem with it on Saturday. 10,001 I'll only have problems if we serve up the dross from previous seasons.
Babylon Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 If you went to 13 games this year paying £23, you'd be better off getting a season ticket.
Phube Posted 7 August 2008 Author Posted 7 August 2008 What you going to do about it? Absolutely nothing!! I'm British... we moan like buggery, but do nowt!! But it just means in reality we go to a lot less games!
morris1234 Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 i know what you mean, shocked me when the woman said to my brother how much it was! £61 for three tickets! but that might be due to us all getting older and having to upgrade, it was 2 adults and 1 under 22 so i suppose the price isnt amazingly bad but compared to 2 under 22's and an under 16 then theres a bigger difference!

That is an Okay deal.. but it involes that upfront outlay of £200, which I have not!
Ashley Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 That is an Okay deal.. but it involes that upfront outlay of £200, which I have not! I know it dosent say anything on the website but if you got in contact with the ticket office, you might be able to pay for it in monthly installments. I doubt you would be able to but its just an idea.
Daggers Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 That is an Okay deal.. but it involes that upfront outlay of £200, which I have not! Stop buying stuff for your Wii and going to see childrens' films then?
JoeyB Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Thier looking after the ST this year, as they are the ones who predominately stick by the club

Thank God for LiveChat and Radio Leicester (sans Barber! ) There are ways to lower the costs and I don't think there'll be many 0-0's this season. How the hell does a forward line from Gradel, King, Oakley, Porter, Dickov, Howard, Fryat, Campbell, Dyer and Ashley Chambers register zero? Yes there will be be freak days and occasions when the opposition defence can do no wrong but they'll be rare as Thomas Toft owls.

If ticket prices increase to a £100 a game I'd still go and watch my Leicester. I mentioned in another thread a few weeks ago that I wouldn't go to the League Cup game because I thought £10 were too much, and I'm getting them this Saturday. All depends how much it means to you really.
Corky Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 A season-ticket would work out cheaper. You are guaranteed a seat if we do really well and most of our matches are near sell-outs. I think the Adult season-ticket works out at around £13 per game or something like that. It does seem quite expensive, but in the club's defence, relegation doesn't mean that electricity costs go down, stewarding and policing costs stay the same, and they have to find the money from somewhere.
Anish Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Corky is right, running costs won't be going down (excluding squad wages I suppose), so the club need to be making money somewhere. I personally don't mind paying the same prices as last season - I've gone for the £99 platinumplus membership so it brings the cost of the first 5 matches down to less than £20. Leicester will be one of the big games (category/grade A) for every other club in League One so you can bet you'll be paying around £20 at most away grounds, so £22 to go to the Walkers Stadium isn't that bad. Gone are the days when football clubs slash prices following relegation - it's an expensive business to run so the fans have to cough up.

Phube Posted 8 August 2008 Author Posted 8 August 2008 Stop buying stuff for your Wii and going to see childrens' films then? Thier looking after the ST this year, as they are the ones who predominately stick by the club I had an ST for the past 6-7 years... But circumstances (especially monetary ones) change. But that's my point... we don't have match grading... not A, B, C... Gold, Silver. Bronze... Just £23!!! The same for Leeds and Yeovil.... I know there might be offers later on, but to have such a rigid pricing structure.. in this League... Just no...
