Simi Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Decision expected soon from Capello. Ferdinand is the favourite, Terry looks to be missing out. I can't think of anyone that deserves it really, but Ferdinand is probably the best of the bunch. Who do you think?

I've noticed our fellow Europeans don't make half as much noise about the captaincy and whatnot. It don't matter to them. Give it to whoever, Terry or Ferdinand, both will go out and play they socks off.

If Capello had his way, like the Italians do, he would pick whichever player held the most caps on the pitch. Why they can't just let him do it his own way I don't know. Personally I don't think choosing an England captain should be a) difficult and b) hugely important.

The right decision out of the 2 candidates given, however Gerrard is a wonderful player who just can not seem to get going for England! Gerrard would be my preference but he needs to go out and prove what a player he is in an England shirt!

sdb Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 should've been rio. better player than terry, won more, shows more respect, less injury prone. only a cole and gerrard are guaranteed starters other than rio and cole's not captaincy material and gerrard is always below par for england.
