Head Honcho Posted 17 September 2008 Author Posted 17 September 2008 Goldie Looking Chain - Guns Don't Kill People (Rappers Do) I was out drinking with 1/10th of GLC last night. In fact we won a couple of rounds in the pub quiz. Rock and Roll.

Guest Posted 19 September 2008 Posted 19 September 2008 I was in their fan club once. *squeals of delight* This is one of my all time favourite songs of all time. Poor Scoweh had to put up with me telling him this constantly when I last heard it "out and about" and probably didn't catch any of it at all!! I have "acquired" The Wedding Present - George Best, and was listening to it today. I used to have a dodgy cassette years ago, and lost it. They were good.
Daggers Posted 19 September 2008 Posted 19 September 2008 Let it be known that I worship at the feet of Saxa. There is none higher. (Apart from those who are but they flick off my radar) I adore The Beat. Adore, I tells you.
Webbo Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 For all 'The Beat' fans out there. This was my favourite record for years. I wasn't that keen on the B side though.
Zingari Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 some of them are forgotten for very good reasons
purpleronnie Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 And some have has massive hits, hardly forgotten when most of them feauture on every 80's compilation cd.
Webbo Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 And some have has massive hits, hardly forgotten when most of them feauture on every 80's compilation cd. I think you're taking this 'forgotten' bit far too seriously. If they were totally forgotten nobody would remember them and think to put them in.

Zingari Posted 20 September 2008 Posted 20 September 2008 Maybe but surely picking songs that werent massive number 1 hits is more relative to the thread. albert hammond ; the free electric band a hit,but not massive and largely forgotten ; but not by me as its one of my all time favourites and seemed to be the zeitgeist song of the era
Anorak Posted 21 September 2008 Posted 21 September 2008 They Might Be Giants are great. I think they get their due off a lot of critics or serious music fans (mostly first 2-3 albums) but having just that 1 big hit somehow leaves you eventually namechecked less than a band that never had any.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 September 2008 Posted 22 September 2008 Anyone spot Tess Daly in there (oh yes she is)
